Local Businesses in Panama!

Hello All!

Today, in Panama, the weather was really nice and sunny. We went on another morning run today and more people than yesterday went with us. We woke up at around 7 am and got ready for the day. We ate breakfast consisting of oatmeal and grilled cheese. Following breakfast we visited a local panadería named La Paulina and they gave us behind the scenes of their family-owned business. We learned about the owner’s past and inspiration for cooking. We also got to try some of their delicious bread. After the bakery tour, we returned to our hotel for free time. This included not only sport-related activities, but cards. Specifically, one American card game called Spit, a two player game that has the hearts of the glimpsers in this delegation.

After our free time, we took part in a visiting activity in Las Tablas. We were divided into groups and went out in the town to visit some family homes. My group, in particular, was greeted by a family of artists and lovely pet owners. We were lucky enough to share stories, games, and culture with the family as well as food. We had an amazing lunch in their house and even played a game of chess afterward. After saying our goodbyes, We returned to the hotel for the night in order to break for free time and have dinner. The trip to the store during our free time led us all to be very hungry. We greatly enjoyed our meal of Panamanian ribs, rice, and salad. Soon after, we had our daily nightly meeting, talked about our day, and did our usual Global Glimpse traditions. We ended the night with some more fun free time and went to sleep at 10:30.
