Our GG History and Culture Day In the DR

Today was an absolutely wonderful day of exploration, discovery, and engagement. We woke up to a beautiful sunny day, ate breakfast, and learned a bit about the history of colonization, dictatorship, struggles for democracy, and the richness of culture in the Dominican Republic. We took a walking tour of Constanza, met the Cazadores (The Military), spent time with Fire Men, learned the history of the oldest Fire Department in the city, learned to create mask molds with Mask Artist, Dario Victoriano, and learned to dance the Merengue and Bachata with Paul Rosado. This evening our first Lider del Dia (Leader of the Day) took their role in leading their fellow Glimpsers for tomorrow’s adventures. It is a joy to see each of our students learning and growing! we are so proud of them as we know that each of you is!
