Passing Traditions

Buenas noches a todos!

Today, we woke up at 6 in the morning then the group went to a nearby panadería that was owned by a man named Orlando who built the panadería from the ground up. He told us that success doesn´t happen overnight and if we ever have a passion for something, we should hold that tight. We had a tour of his place and then we went to a clay workshop owned by a man named Lucrecio. Lucrecio had been working in that workshop for 35 years with his family. He had his big break when a Holiday Inn requested 2000 small plates from him. After he delivered, his business started booming. He eventually managed to open his own workshop with pottery wheels and also taught his family the business. We were given clay pots to decorate, see pictured. Some students were fortunate enough to make their own clay pots.
We went home and rested while others went to the market for supplies. Afterward, we enjoyed dinner and our nightly meeting. We ended the meeting by passing down the torch to our next Lider del Dia.

Signing off,

Emilio and Erick

What an interesting and inspiring story! I imagine Orlando has so much wisdom to offer, and I am envious that you all got to spend time learning about his business. Thanks for sharing!
