My name is Abida Erina, and I am a student at the Baccalaureate School for Global Education in Queens, New York. This is my first time traveling out of the country without family, but I am excited about the experiences I will have in the DR!

Some of my favorite things to do when I have time to myself include reading (especially romance novels), attempting to cook food I enjoy, and crafting. I also love talking with others and learning about what brings them happiness.

I wanted to go on this Global Glimpse trip because I have always enjoyed helping others. By going to the Dominican Republic, I learn more about myself through helping others, and it is important to understand who you are in this world. This program will allow me to understand what life is like for someone from a different background. Not only will I have the opportunity to help someone, but I also have the chance to grow myself on a different level.

I can’t wait to learn new things about the world around me and myself!
