THATS A CAP!

Hi, we’re Janize and Zahra. We’re the 2 Leaders of the day for the last full day in Constanza. Today we woke up at 7am, had breakfast at 8am, and went back to the school at 9am to finish working on our CAP project.  Everyone was working very hard to finish painting the basketball court and the three murals, despite the very hot weather. The planet mural was finished before lunch (yay!) We came back to the hotel around 12pm for lunch, ate very good fried chicken, and returned to the school at 2pm. We continued adding the finishing touches to our projects. Some of us finished detailing the basketball courts, while others added to the murals. Two girls who attend the school we were working on came to the school and hung out with us. We got to spend quality time and play games with them. Around 4pm, all of the projects were finished and we cleaned up. Everyone was very proud of their work and the final results of the basketball court and the murals. We were also very happy that we finished in time and no hurricane stopped us! Big love to Ken for helping us out with our CAP project! We headed back to the hotel at 4:30pm and freshened up before our CAP Self Reflection meeting at 5:30pm. We discussed our personal opinions and group achievements about the CAP project. We had dinner at 7pm and our Nightly Meeting a little before 8pm. Everyone’s pretty bummed out that tonight is our last night in Constanza, but all good things must come to an end.

Leaders of the day:

Janize – Hi Ma, Hi dad, Even though I’m coming home in 2 days I’m still very excited to be coming home and being with my dogs because that’s who I really do miss.( don’t expect me to come off that plane might just stay)

Zahra – Hi Mama, Papa, Nakiya, and family! Just wanted to let you know that I’m doing alright and having so much fun learning and exploring. Can’t wait to see you guys in a couple of days and tell you all about my experience. I love you all and I can’t wait for us to travel to the DR together one day.

Hey Lena I hope you had a lot of fun finishing up on your mural activity with your group! It was really good having to hear you when we called today and it made me feel a lot better that you’re doing well and better! Words can’t describe how amazed and proud I am of you for staying positive and enjoying the time with your new friends on a much needed break from daily life at home. You’re coming back soon and we can’t wait to see you! Have a goodnight and sweet dreams!
