Today we started our day at 6:30 and had breakfast at the Quality Hotel at 7:30am. At around 8:20 we left to Turrialba where we saw and got comfortable around our base house for the next 2 weeks. For lunch, which was at 12:30pm we had a traditional Costa Rican dish called arroz con pollo or as they famously call it here arroz con siempre with some beans and salad, it was delicious. Afterwards, we had our day one orientation where we learned the rules and expectations for this program and how the days are gonna work. During down time a lot of the students took a swim at the pool and got to play a lot of games to get to know each other. For Dinner er we had lentils with pork or chicken, rice and salad. For our first night, we learned what a nightly meeting is and how reflecting on each day that goes by is important to understand the trip and the impact that is creating in each and every one of us. Tomorrow we have a big day at Cartago so bedtime was at 9:30 to get some good rest. Talk to you later!
