Who’s up for an Adventure?!?!

Hello Global Glimpsers!

My name is Dan Shefer (aka The Chef) and I will be traveling with you this summer as one of your Global Glimpse leaders! This is my first trip with Global Glimpse so I am looking forward to our experience together.  Although I have been to the Dominican Republic a couple of times before, it has been as a tourist and never got a true experience of the people and culture.   That being said, I am really excited to have the privilege to expand my horizons with all of you!

A Little About Me:

I am a Special Education Teacher, an English Teacher, and a History Teacher at the Brooklyn Latin School in Brooklyn, New York and have just wrapped up my fifth year of teaching.  I am originally from the Midwest, specifically South Bend, IN.  I did my undergraduate degree in Theater and used to work as a professional actor for many years before going to graduate school in New York to become an educator.  I am first generation Jewish American and my family is from Ukraine and other ex-Soviet countries.  I enjoy anime, Star Wars, Theater, and anything comic book themed as well as traveling and broadening my horizons.
