IMG_2945 IMG_0633 IMG_2921 IMG_2943 IMG_2944 IMG_2191 Today was our first official fun day, and I was lucky enough to lead the group. We started off the day with our usual routine: wake-up (with the exception of a few going on a run), get ready, eat breakfast and head out. For breakfast we were treated with a beautiful and traditional Nicaraguan dish called Nacatamal. Let me just say, it was AMAZING! My mouth was thrilled with every bite. Around nine am we boarded the bus and made our way to a volcano crater called “Monkey Hut.” We arrived around nine-thirty and left around three-thirty. During our visit, we had the chance to mingle with another glimpser group from Esteli. I am trying my best to find a way to create a mental picture of the volcano crater (pictures are included, don’t worry). The shape is like a food or water bowl for dogs. So just imagine being shrunk down, placed into a doggy water bowl surrounded by hundreds upon hundreds of lush green trees with vines slipping down the trunk and hanging from the branches. I don’t know many people who can say they have seen anything like this, in that case we are extremely fortunate and grateful for this experience. The fact that we, as a group, have grown closer and closer each day is the part that made this experience that much better. I am so very pleased that I am able to take part in this trip with a group of very exceptional young and curious minds.
