Rain might have grounded us a little longer in El Salvador but we’re finally in Estelí. We made our way into town on the Pan American route and had the opportunity to explore our surroundings on a brief tour of town. As we made our way through on food, a few students that have traveled to other Latin American countries pointed to similarities in architecture, sounds, and smells between the countries.

Its surprising that our students have really pushed themselves to stay engaged and have taken the steps to make the best of their free time, even with having had very little sleep! Everyone has also shown plenty of appreciation for our in-country staff hosting us in El Chico. I really look forward to getting to know all the students more during this trip. We hope to get a good nights rest tonight, please stay tuned for more updates.
