Today we started early in the morning, we had a very nice breakfast, we loaded the bus and then we head to Aquiares, the small coffee community where will live for the next 2 weeks. After a while, we left behind San Jose, the capital, we drove through Cartago and after 2 and a half hours we hit Turrialba.
Once at the lodge, we had some downtime and some of us walked around the community which is very small and located at 3000 ft above sea level. We stopped by the school, the mini market, and even at the house of one of the PC, also meet Chester.
After having lunch we went to Turrialba downtown, we walked in the main area, we saw Cornelio, the resident rooster of the central park, we visited the central market and we crossed the old railroad bridge. Then we stopped at Rawlings International, the maquila where the balls used at the Major Leagues are made, after this, we visit a small soda where we tried an excellent homemade passion fruit ice cream.
We went back to the base house and we tried the traditional
arroz con pollo`and we ended with our nightly meeting.
Looks like the kids are enjoying themselves.
