Dear Global Glimpse Parents and Families,
As many of you may already be aware, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake occurred on the pacific coastline of Nicaragua last night on Wednesday, June 9. There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries of any kind in any of our sites, and all students, GG Leaders, and staff have been accounted for and all are doing well. The earthquake’s epicenter was located in Chinandega. Currently, all trips are scheduled to proceed with their planned activities while carefully following all health and safety protocols.
We are closely monitoring the situation with our staff on the ground as well as with International SOS (ISOS), our international medical and emergency care provider. Please be advised that ISOS has performed thousands of evacuations and with care, and has developed the expertise to provide service in remote areas of the world. Additionally, ISOS’ global security network is designed and ready to assist in managing any complex issues of people, information, communications, and transportation during an emergency situation. In the event of an emergency, Global Glimpse is prepared to execute our carefully assessed natural disaster and evacuation protocols in partnership with ISOS to help minimize risk to our participants and staff. If you have any further questions about the earthquake in Nicaragua please contact our Director of International Programs, Jocelyn Juliao, at [email protected].
Thank you,
The Global Glimpse Team
Good Morning,
This is Nelly mother of Marisol Vasquez. Marisol has had a few anxiety attacks in the past and I just need to know she is okay and not panicking.
I’m glad to hear all of you are safe and sound. Please continue to keep us posted.
Thank you and God Bless!
Please let Anaih know that I’m keeping her dad posted so that he is not worried.
thank you
Hi Nelly,
Our team in Leon have informed us that Marisol is doing great! She is safe and a natural born leader that we are proud to have in the delegation. When the tremors happened, she was the first one to lead the group by example through the safety protocols and showed everyone else how to stay safe. Thank you for your concerns and inquiry!
Hi! this is Ismael Mauricio’s mother, we know that all of you are okay and safe. Please let him know that we will continue to check for updates should anything change. Please keep us posted. God bless you all.
Thank you.
Good evening All,
Glad to hear that all of you are safe. Game just finished 108 – 97, Warriors won. My first time saw Curry so mad with Cavalier 23. Shame on him. He is not playing professionally. Next game will be Monday night.
Kimberly, please don’t forget to pray everyday for the safety of All.
Stay safe and calm. Drink lots of water.
Love you,
Dad, Mom & Yeepy
