Today was amazing! As the days go by, the group is becoming more and more comfortable with each other. Today was about Aid & Development, in which we discussed the positive and negative impacts of aiding developing worlds. Although everyone was involved in discussion, it was apparent that everything we discussed really came alive once we actually saw the community we would be aiding. As soon as our bus pulled in, we were greeted by smiling and waving kids. Some had shoes, some didn’t but without a doubt they were all ecstatic to see us, and the Glimpsers were really excited to get off the bus to meet them too.

While taking a tour of the area, we learned more about The Hope Project, the organization we will be partnering with for our Community Action Project. The Hope Project focuses on providing education and nourishment for street kids and with our help we will be improving the conditions of their school. Above you’ll see pictures of the kids we met in the community when we visited the school. All the kids were so excited but shy. Yet our group showed the kids so much love and talked with them and played hand games with them and joked with them, even the Glimpsers who didn’t know the language very well.

So proud of our Glimpsers showing courage and compassion today. Can’t wait to see the amazing interactions they’ll have with Nicaragua’s locals tomorrow!
