Hola Glimpsers, Leaders and Parents!
Greetings from Ecuador!
We are Fernanda (Program Coordinator) and Héctor (Program Manager/Coordinator). You will be arriving very soon to Ecuador and we are excited to welcome you to Riobamba, the heart of Ecuador and home to rich indigenous traditions and majestic mountains, for what will be 2.5 incredible weeks of learning and discovery.
Together we will experience this part of the Andes Mountainous Ranges and meet wonderful people who are doing amazing things. You will learn from them as much as they will learn and get inspired by you.
We also want to remind you that as much as you will learn about Ecuador during the next 2.5 weeks, you will also learn a lot about yourselves. After our journey together, you will have an amazing story to tell and an incredible adventure to share about people and places you never knew existed.
We are here to guide you on this journey and to support you in your growth as young leaders and global citizens. We are also here to have a lot of fun times with many different activities!
We are putting together a very interesting and inspiring program for you to get the best learning experience. You were chosen to be part of this program because you are unique, your have the will and the skills to take the best from this experience and we sincerely appreciate your hard work to get here. We can’t wait to meet all of you!
See you soon!
P.S: Don’t forget to bring warm clothes, plenty of sunscreen and hefty water bottles!
I love this post! I can’t wait to follow all your student’s journeys!
Hi! My name is Emanuel Morales and I am from San Jose,CA. I will be embarking on the trip to Riobamba, on June 8-27. Me and my friend, who is also on the trip, are avid runners who are both on our school’s Cross Country and Track & Field teams. We see the opportunity for us to expand our running horizons thanks to the general environment of Riobamba, specifically the high altitude. We ourselves are of course experienced runners, and we are also aware of Global Glimpse’s rules on going out by ourselves. For this reason, I am wondering if there is perhaps any way, which we can somehow contact the other members of this trip to inquire if any other runners are perhaps interested in creating a small group so that we made go out as a group. I am also aware that an email is going out by the trip leaders prior to the trip, so if this detail may be included, we would gladly appreciate it.
Hey Emanuel! Glad to hear from you, we’re excited to organize runs with you once you get acclimated to the altitude! There’s a very nice trail along a river around the corner to our accommodation, 3 mile circuit, passing through a very big park with an open air gym. Make sure you are eating healthy and drinking plenty of water prior and during your trip, that will considerably boost your response to altitude. Until then!
Hello Fernanda and Hector, I am Arjun Savel’s mama. Thank you so much for all your are doing and will do for our children. We very much appreciate all your hard work and are excited about this journey. Can’t wait to read about all the adventures.
