Saludos de Granada!
After a long trip, we have made it to Granada, Nicaragua safe and sound! It was a joy to see this group of diverse students connect with each other as quickly as they did. Today we saw our students get to know new people, have fun, and help each other out even though they had a tiring day of travel.
We got to know our hostel, which will be our home for the next 18 days. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful, and our program coordinators, Ena and McCall, have clearly put a lot of work into preparing this experience for us. Granada is a beautiful city and the bus trip from Managua to Granada had us staring excitedly out the window to see the beautiful countryside.
The highlight of my day was meeting some of these great kids for the first time and seeing a little peak of their unique personalities. I look forward to getting to know them better and seeing them take on roles as leaders in this incredible experience.
*sips tea Not trying to be rude but it’s spelled Granada…. *sips tea Hey McCall and Ena I hope this delegation isn’t giving you any trouble. Make sure that the drink plenty of water and don’t eat too much spaghetti. Seriously though, G-R-A-N-A-D-A Granada is a great place and you will surely fall in love with the place and the people around you. I wish I could go back and am already thinking about visiting Nicaragua next summer. Enjoy the food, especially the Gallo Pinto, it really grows on you.
P.S My sincerest apologies to the poor soul that spelled it wrong. It’s just that this place is like a second home and holds a special place in all our (My Delegation) hearts. Don’t feel too bad, it must be the “Jet Lag”
Post has been edited, thanks Andy for pointing out the typo!
Hi Ena and Mac! D1B (AKA best delegation ever) fam right here! I hope you guys settled in alright! Just remember maROOM 5 is the best room ever. Don’t be afraid to ask for more Gallo Pinto, Don Carlos doesn’t mind (((: Granada is the best city ever. Cafe De La Flores has the best frappes in Granada. It’s hard to spend cordobas because it seems like you’re spending so much money, but in reality, you ain’t. MaROOM 5’s secrets cannot be kept. They can hear you from the common room haha. P.S the night guard is chill. Goodnight D1C! Follow the rules hehe.
