Our global staff, management team, board and advisors are made up of passionate, talented individuals with a breadth of experience that ranges from multinational corporations to leading nonprofit organizations and academic institutions.

We have built a strong organizational foundation that combines business principles from the private sector with best practices and industry-leading research from the nonprofit sector.

US Staff

Eliza pic for webEliza Pesuit, Executive Director

Eliza leads the organization through her passion for international education, community action, and youth development. She believes that equality is born out of a strong sense of social responsibility that begins at home and reaches far beyond national borders. Eliza joined Global Glimpse as a program coordinator in Nicaragua in 2008 where she worked for a year prior to coming on as the first full time staff in the US in 2009. She utilizes her extensive international and youth development experience to drive the organization’s growth strategy, lead fundraising initiatives, and ensure program quality. Eliza Graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts, she is bilingual in Spanish and English, and under her leadership Global Glimpse has grown more than seven fold over the past six years.

Ben Polansky, Chief Operating Officer

Ben, a native to the Bay Area, has dedicated his professional career to empowering youth to live and fight for a more just and equitable world. He has 10+ years of leadership experience in education based non-profits and internet start-ups. Ben has worked with hundreds of high school students and designed and delivered thousands of hours of experiential education. He is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara and has been recognized for his work as an educator by the San Francisco Human Rights Commission and the San Francisco Giants. He is the founder of the Brave New Travelers Youth Scholarship fund and has traveled,  lived, worked and learned on 5 continents and over 40 countries. He currently lives with his wife in Oakland, Ca where he travels vicariously through the amazing students in Global Glimpse.

Marcela_Global_Glimpse_MG_9139Marcela Berrios, VP of Strategic Partnerships

Growing up in Nicaragua, Marcela had a first hand view of the effects of poverty on young people and quality education. Creating opportunity for young people to break through barriers of poverty, access and discrimination has built Marcela’s life work. Marcela has devoted most of her career to Global Glimpse and the young people we serve. Her success in managing our partner programs is fueled by her experience in working with diverse groups of young people, her cross-cultural community development experience and passion for global education. She joined Global Glimpse in 2012 as a Program Coordinator in Nicaragua and moved to California to manage the Bay Area partner school program and national college prep partnerships in 2012. In 2015 she became VP of Strategic Partnerships, managing all US school programs and partnerships from Global Glimpse’s NY office. Marcela holds a BA in Psychology and Behavioral Social Science from Ave Maria University in Nicaragua.

jocelynJocelyn Juliao, VP of International Programs

Growing up in a low-income community in the Bay Area and working in developing countries, Jocelyn has gained a deep understanding of the educational struggles and lack of opportunities that many disadvantaged youth face.  She has visited, served, and worked in over 10 countries, including volunteering with Peace Corps, working as a Director for an orphanage in Honduras, and leading high school and college global education teams into developing countries.  Jocelyn’s passion for social justice, human rights, equity and cultural diversity led her to obtain an MS in Educational Leadership and Policy, International Relations and Nonprofit Management from Portland State University.  With almost 10 years of experience in both domestic and international service and management positions, she has gained skills in supervising and training staff, financial oversight, and program development, implementation, evaluation and sustainability.  She is fluent in Spanish and English and has passionately dedicated her life to working with others to bring hope and opportunity to youth from all walks of life.

DSC_0415Jocelyn Ma, Risk Management & Safety Coordinator

Born in the Bay Area but raised in three different countries, Jocelyn learned the importance of multicultural understanding at an early age. The tricks she developed for navigating her new communities triggered a curiosity to learn more about cultural diversity and the stories behind our differences. That curiosity soon turned into her passion, which is now her career. Since graduating with a B.A. degree in Global Economics from UC Santa Cruz, Jocelyn has studied and worked in six different countries around the world, including participating in a Fulbright in South Korea and, most recently, receiving an M.Ed. in International Education from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Jocelyn brings over ten years of advising and program management experience in the field of international education working specifically with secondary and university students. In the past five years, Jocelyn’s work has focused on the growing need for risk management programs to support the health, safety and security of students abroad. A strong believer in lifelong learning, Jocelyn is excited to continue to grow with Global Glimpse and support our future leaders as they step out into the world.


HeadshotBrent Nichols, US Operations Manager

Brent grew up in a diverse neighborhood in San Jose, California, which led to his interest in different cultures and international issues. He has a BA degree from the University of California, Davis and a Masters degree from San Francisco State University in International Relations and has spent his years since working with youth in the United States and abroad. Brent has worked in various roles in Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Australia and realizes that traveling abroad is one of the most inspirational things a person can do. He will bring his experience managing logistics with other educational exchange organizations to Global Glimpse where he is excited to help students enjoy the formative trips that lead to a lifetime of global learning and service.

Ali Philbrick Headshot Ali Philbrick, New York Programs Manager

Ali has dedicated 6+ years to her passion for international education. After attending Fairleigh Dickinson University, she challenged herself by accepting a position with WorldTeach in Panama. What was supposed to be a 6 month experience turned into 2 years and an even deeper love for education, youth development and Latin America. She returned to the states fluent in Spanish and ready to pursue her masters in International Education Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. After completing her studies, she moved to Cusco, Peru and began working as a Project Manager for a small nonprofit focused on female empowerment. She returned to the states and spent the last year working with low-income youth at DREAM Charter School in East Harlem. Her first hand experiences with youth both abroad and stateside are what truly fuels her passion for creating the next generation of global leaders, and she is so excited to be a member of the Global Glimpse team!


Headshot A - LederhouseJamelyn Lederhouse – Chicago Regional Manager

Growing up in the Chicago area, Jamelyn always had a passion to learn more about the world. After earning her undergraduate degree in Spanish and secondary education, she spent a year working with at-risk youth in Costa Rica, followed by teaching high school Spanish upon her return to the Chicago area. In addition to working abroad and traveling to over 20 countries, Jamelyn has participated in immersion educational experiences in six countries, and knows firsthand how these experiences have enriched her education and global perspective. Building upon her 10+ years in the non-profit and education sectors, Jamelyn brings experience in program management, education and leadership development. She earned her Master’s in Public Service at DePaul University and Fundamentals of Leadership Certificate at Northwestern University. Jamelyn is fluent in Spanish and has spent much of her career and volunteer efforts investing in youth. She is driven by her passion to bring education and leadership opportunities to students and is very excited to be a part of the Global Glimpse team in Chicago.

Breanne TchengBreanne Tcheng, Bay Area Programs Manager

Breanne believes in the power of international understanding and cultural diversity, and to her, education can be used as a tool to transform and build communities across our array of similarities and differences. After serving as a Global Glimpse Leader in 2014, she witnessed first-hand how transformative this program can be, and truly fell in love with the compassion, humanity, and heart of the organization. Breanne holds a B.A. in Communications from UC San Diego, and a Masters of Education from the University of Southern California. She brings years of recruitment, admissions, and advising experience in the higher education setting to her role as the Bay Area Program Coordinator. She is thrilled to not only work towards making these opportunities accessible for all students, but to inspire future generations of youth to be architects of change in their communities and abroad.


Felicia Ong – Community Engagement Specialist

Felicia is inspired by the power of international education as a catalyst for relationship building and diplomacy in today’s world. Born and raised in the Bay Area by Burmese immigrant parents, she developed a strong cultural identity with the local Burmese-Chinese community. Having traveled to Matagalpa, Nicaragua with Global Glimpse in 2010, Felicia is a proud alumna of the program and has since been inspired to advance both the role and recognition of international education on the foreign policy landscape. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and Communication from the University of California, Davis, and was the first in her family to attend college. With a background in strategic communications, at the intersection of the non-profit, private, and public sectors, Felicia brings a diverse array of experiences to her role as Community Engagement Specialist. She is excited to be supporting Global Glimpse’s growth in the coming years and to be sharing such powerful work through her role in fundraising and communications.

Trishia Salindong – Administrator & Bookkeeper

Trishia is a Filipina-American and community organizer who has lived in the Bay Area for eight years. Born in Manila, Trishia became aware of systemic socioeconomic injustice at an early age and was compelled to engage in creative activism. While at UC Berkeley she double-majored in Legal Studies and International Human Rights/Economic Development. She was also a coordinator and facilitator for various cultural education, performance, and creative writing spaces. Since graduating, she has participated in grassroots efforts towards promoting racial equity, art and spoken word, and local community empowerment. She is excited to grow with Global Glimpse, building and sustaining opportunities for youth to develop an international perspective and cultivate meaningful relationships across borders.

Nicaragua Staff

Madai BaltodanoMadai Baltodano, Nicaragua Country Director

Madai began working with Global Glimpse in 2009 as one of the very first coordinators. From Matagalpa, she is a passionate and dedicated leader, striving every year to improve and innovate summer delegations. Madai has worked in tourism and hospitality since 2006, and is excited to deepen her love and knowledge of Nicaragua as the country director this year. While not working for

Global Glimpse, Madai tends to her family’s coffee farm, where she often hosts tourists and visitors. Madai uses her creativity and humor, as well as her extensive leadership experience to guide and support the in-country coordinators in creating and leading seven programs in 4 cities in Nicaragua.

Yader has been working at the intersection of social justice and economics for five years. In his work at the Help in Action Foundation in Leon, he combined his passion for the pursuit of peace with his skills in accounting and working with local non-profits.  Before that, he worked on strengthening the capacities of marginalized and vulnerable groups in society–including rural families, small business owners, and women–through coordinating trainings and developing projects with them. Yader is pursuing his combined interests and passions for social change and finance management in his work with Global Glimpse.

Javier, a native of Matagalpa, is passionate about cultural exchanges. Through his extensive translating experience, he has delved into the nuances that make Spanish and English unique, and through that has explored the differences and similarities among the different languages and cultures.  Javier brings a strong sense of ethics and morals to every situation he encounters, and avidly believes in the power of clear communication to navigate any personal or professional challenge. He brings his experience as a Program Coordinator in Esteli to his new role as Program Manager of all of our programs in Nicaragua.

In finding a love for technology and valuing the importance of effective communication, integrity, social interaction, and new ideas, Miguel obtained a degree in Computer Systems Engineering. He is passionate about working with youth and finds joy in teaching because it compels him to learn something new every day. He has over ten years of experience working with youth from all walks of life. What he has enjoyed the most about working with youth is seeing different cultures gathered together in one place for the same purpose of learning from each other and exploring new cultures together. This passion led Miguel to serve with many missionary groups in Nicaragua for the past five years. He is excited to join the Global Glimpse team and looks forward to using his passion and past experiences to impact the lives of our students and community partners. Miguel strongly believes that if we invest in the youth of today will be investing to change tomorrow.

Erik Ouwerkerk – Esteli 2

Erik was born in Utrecht, Netherlands, which is known for its enriching student environment. After obtaining a certificate in Jungian Psychology, and ready for a new challenge, Erik moved to Managua, Nicaragua to study Anthropology at the UNAN campus and engaged himself in local life as a true anthropologist should. Soon after his studies at UNAN, Erik continued his passion for exploring and learning about new cultures by traveling to different countries across Latin America. Eventually, Erik felt led to return to Nicaragua and continue immersing himself in the local communities and documenting his experiences through journalism. Erik believes that having an open mind to any situation is key to a strong educational foundation and focuses his journalism on exploring and writing about this. Erik is very excited to be a part of the Global Glimpse team this summer and help broaden the world for our students.

Tania Gutierrez – Esteli 2

Tanis was born in Esteli, Nicaragua and lives in Tisey-Estanzuela, which is a Natural Protected Area. At a young age, she began volunteering with different social change projects around her community. Tania has always believed that education is a powerful and unique tool to help develop societies. Tania was awarded a scholarship to study Agribusiness Management with Emphasis in Export & Import at Iowa Western Community College, USA. Post graduation, Tania has worked with different organizations, including Casa Canadiense, involved in health, education, and community development. I have been working there since 2008 until the present time. In her years of work experience, she has also supported as a group facilitator and translator for global education classes with diverse high school students from Canada. Tania loves working with people from different parts of the world and is very excited to be part of Global Glimpse this summer.

Athalia Markowitz – GRANADA 1

Athalia was born in Israel and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has a Master’s in International Relations from UC San Diego and a Bachelor’s in History and Spanish from UC Berkeley. Athalia has spent a few years living, studying, and working across Latin America – including two years in Quiche, Guatemala as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Prior to joining Global Glimpse, Athalia managed experiential learning programs for college students at Net Impact. Athalia is bilingual in Spanish and English and is excited to spend this summer working with future leaders on trips full of cultural exchange and service.

Maria Noella Solis

Maria was born in Diriamba, Carazo, Nicaragua – a city full of culture and tradition – has a BA in Diplomacy and International Relations and speaks Spanish, English and Portuguese fluently. At the age of 18, Maria discovered her appreciation and passion that the power of international exchanges has on the lives of people who decide to get out of her comfort zone and understand their own inner world. She has traveled to the United States (California) and Brazil for international exchange opportunities. Shortly after these experiences, Maria further explored and embraced the opportunity to work with AIESEC in Nicaragua, managing and leading social projects based on global goals and focused on the development of organizations in Nicaragua in the Incoming Exchanges department. Maria is passionate about the Global Glimpse mission and is looking forward to meeting the Glimpsers this summer and addressing global goals for sustainable youth and leadership development through international and cultural immersion experiences.

Maryuleth Perez – MATAGALPA 2

Maryuleth was born in Matagalpa, Nicaragua and has come to know many rural environments of her native country. Born and raised in a family that has deeply nurtured their roots and through her experience working as a veterinarian, Maryuleth has spent many years facilitating educational discussions focused on unity and rural development in various rural communities surrounding Matagalpa. Maryuleth has a clear vision for the future of her fellow Nicaraguans and is eager and enthusiastic to embrace new cultures and is committed and passionate to share Nicaragua’s culture and traditions with an inclusive approach to ignite inspiration between cultures.

Silvan Wiersma

This will be Silvan’s second year with Global Glimpse! He started with Global Glimpse last year leading one of our programs in Matagalpa and we are excited to have him lead another in program in Matagalpa with us again this year. Silvan was born in Wieringen, Holland where he grew up and studied to be a Sociology Teacher. He has developed into a true global citizen through his various travels all over the world, from Lebanon to China to Syria to Japan! His love and connection for Nicaragua grew in the years he spent working with a human rights organization. Silvan genuinely understands the importance of interacting with other cultures as a means of developing a more comprehensive understanding of the world. He enjoys sharing his experiences with students, and as a teacher, he has developed inspiring ways to challenge and motivate youth to become all that they can be. One of Silvan’s favorite quotes is, “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire” – He is excited to be a part of the “lighting of the fire” that the Glimpsers will experience in Matagalpa this summer!

Camila Quintana – Leon 1

Born in Managua, Nicaragua, Camila has dedicated many years volunteer for Techo, a Latin American non-profit that works towards ending extreme poverty and promotes communal empowerment. Camila has also been deeply involved in social initiatives around Nicaragua such as working as a coordinating member at Observatorio contra el Acoso Callejero in the hopes of bringing attention to the issue of street harassment as a manifestation of sexist violence. She is now a Psychology major, loves to read and study about social issues and plans to pursue a master’s in a related field by the end of this year. Camila is looking forward to meeting our glimpsers this summer and sharing with them some of the empowering movements happening in Nicaragua.

Cynthia Rodríguez

Cynthia was born Matagalpa, Nicaragua and studied Applied Economics with a focus in Territorial Development at Centroamericana University in Managua, Nicaragua. Her passions include traveling, learning about new cultures and volunteering. Cynthia has volunteered in different organizations, such as TECHO, as a community coordinator in the neighborhood Sor María Romero – Matagalpa, focused on working alongside the local community members and other volunteers. Her various volunteer experiences have helped her to personally grow, especially in seeing the impact of helping communities become more committed to their own development. She is very excited to be part of the Global Glimpse team this season and is looking forward to continuing part of a group that is committed to the global development of this world.

Francisco Saenz – Leon 2

Francisco was born in Managua, Nicaragua and is excited to share his friendly and outgoing personality with the glimpsers this summer. Francisco’s experiences include meeting many people from various countries as a Nicaragua tour guide and managing international Hostels. He will be obtaining a degree in Public Accounting and Financing at UNAN-Leon. Francisco has collaborated with Global Glimpse as an English student and has actively supported past Glimpsers in the Community Action Projects. He is very passionate about the work that Global Glimpse moves forward, is excited to be a Program Coordinator this year, and is especially looking forward to meeting our future leaders this summer.

Summer Sinsigalli

Summer was born in California, is an avid explorer, is passionate about soccer, and is lover of all spicy food! She earned a BA in Sociology at CU Boulder and had the opportunity to study abroad in Brazil. While in Brazil, Summer started a soccer program for girls living in a favela, in hopes of promoting youth development and empowerment. After graduating, Summer pursued her thirst for global expansion, and has been traveling throughout South America for six months, working with locals to understand different cultures on a more intimate level. She is ecstatic to transition and settle in Nicaragua where she can express her passion for global consciousness to the youth of the United States. Summer hopes to delve into the culture of Nicaragua with her students, and help spark their passion to get out of their comfort zones and explore the unknown!

Juliana Gutierrez – MATAGALPA 1

Juliana was born in Manizales – a small city in Colombia’s coffee-growing region – where she spent most of her childhood, before moving to New York City. She studied Political Science and Educational Studies at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. Juliana developed a strong passion for youth empowerment and educational access worldwide through her participation in social justice education programs in New York City, India, Peru, and the Dominican Republic. Juliana deeply cherishes the many ways by which her own educational and cross-cultural experiences have contributed to her growth as a compassionate leader and cultural navigator. She is thrilled to bring her skills and perspectives to inspire more youth through Global Glimpse’s intentional learning model and different insights that she and the glimpsers will gain in Matagalpa this summer!

Alexander Herrera

This will be Alex’s third year working as a Program Coordinator with Global Glimpse and this year he will be leading one of our programs in his own native city of Matagalpa! A graduate in Social Work from UNAN-Matagalpa, Alex is really passionate about introducing the local culture and lifestyle of Nicaragua to the glimpsers. Alex is also currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration. He is an enthusiastic, dynamic young man that believes in the power of inspiring young leaders throughout the full immersion in other countries. As an English teacher, Alex has gained a wealth of experience in the field and is really excited about sharing this with our students. He loves to spend time with friends, family and getting to know new people. He is very passionate about his country and is looking forward to sharing that love with the new generation of tomorrow’s leaders.

Rafael Peralta – GRANADA 2

Ignacio was born in Corinto, Nicaragua. Ignacio began to grow his commitment to social work as a teenager and pursued his passion by obtaining a BS in Social Work at UNAN-Leon. Since then, he has worked with various organizations in different areas such as a youth leader/mentor, family planning, human rights, and environmental awareness. Ignacio has had the opportunity to work with many international volunteers from various countries such as the United State, Germany, and many Latin Americans. Working alongside international volunteers has helped to shape and open the ways that Ignacio views the world around him and positive ways to approaching problem solving strategies . Ignacio is looking forward to meeting the glimpsers and sharing his knowledge of his country and experiences while also continuing to learn from others.

Kimberly Pena

Kimberly was born into a family with strong Mexican roots in Colorado, USA. Being Mexican-American, she has always been interested in learning about various cultures and traveling abroad. She studied as a first-generation scholar and holds two Bachelor’s degrees, one in Social Work and one in Economics from Colorado State University. After graduation, Kimberly traveled to South America for a year, where she learned how important travel is for personal development and learning about global issues. She has worked with youth in various roles such as being a mentor to international students and as an advocate for youth. Kimberly is enthusiastic about being part of this journey to utilize her skills and share her experiences as she learns from the glimpsers and the Global Glimpse team!

Belkis Tatiana Rivas López – ESTELI 1

This will be Belkis’ second year with Global Glimpse! Her first year with Global Glimpse was in 2015 as a Program Coordinator leading one of our programs in Jinotega and we are excited to have her lead another in program with us this year in her own native city of Esteli! Belkis’ passion is meeting new people and sharing all of the beautiful and unique aspects of Nicaragua with them. In pursuing her passion for nature and the environment, Belkis studied Sustainable Tourism in UNAN-Managua and has since worked with many volunteers from different parts of the world in areas such as environmental education, formal education and tourism. She has also worked as a tour coordinator, hotel manager and Agricultural School teacher. With this being her second year with Global Glimpse, Belkis is excited and passionate about sharing her experiences with the glimpsers and discovering ways with them to improve our world.

Christa Giesecke

Having grown up in Germany and Greece in addition to her passport country of the United States, Christa thrives in international environments and enjoys the nuances of intercultural communication. After graduating from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR, USA with a double major in International Affairs and Foreign Languages, she spent a year teaching English in Araguaina, Brazil, as a Fulbright scholar. Her passion for educational equality, teaching, social justice, and youth development led her to found a running club for girls in Araguaina and later join the NGO, buildOn, as a Trek Coordinator. In the last year working with buildOn, Christa has led trips to build schools to Senegal, Malawi, Haiti, Nepal, and Nicaragua, where she became acquainted with Global Glimpse! She looks forward to collaborating with staff to deliver transformative programming for Global Glimpse youth this summer!

Dominican Republic Staff

Carina Dengler, Dominican Republic Country Director

Molly Carina Dengler fell in love with the Dominican Republic while studying abroad in Santo Domingo in 2005. Since then, she has returned frequently to reconnect with the Dominican mens’ rugby team for which she played and discover the beauty and complexity of the country and culture. Originally from Minneapolis, MN, Carina graduated from Wesleyan University with a major in Latin American Studies and Spanish. Between service-learning experiences abroad as a Volunteer, Supervisor and Project Director of Amigos de las Américas, she has dedicated her professional life to teaching special education in a dual language public school in NYC. She also co-founded and directed a nonprofit that uses rugby to positively impact the lives of high school students in NYC. Carina will bring her bilingualism, passion for the Dominican Republic and background as a progressive urban educator to her position as Country Director in the Dominican Republic.

brayan-torresBrayan Torres – Program Manager

Brayan has been a part of the Global Glimpse family since 2014. Brayan began his journey with Global Glimpse as a Program Coordinator for two seasons and a Site Manager for one season in his hometown of Leon, Nicaragua. Brayan has gained significant experience leading engaging and eye-opening experiences for over 60 Glimpsers each year. He brings creative problem solving skills, compassion and a strong sense of adaptability to our team. Brayan attributes his comprehensive and humanistic experiences to his background in social work research while earning a degree in Social Work at the University of Leon in 2012. In addition, he recently traveled to Germany where he completed a comprehensive training in International Program Management. Brayan is very excited to continue his career in the international field focused on youth development and is committed to applying his perseverance and creativity as he leads our Dominican Republic South Region programs. Brayan believes in empowering young people and connecting them with resources and communities to open their minds and motivate them to become active global citizens.

alyssa-torresAlyssa Torres – Program Manager

Originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Alyssa found an “adopted home” in the Dominican Republic after studying and living there for two years. She has a deep affinity for the DR and is excited to see future Glimpsers discover the goodness and beauty of a new culture. For the past nine years, she has worked in the area of bilingual education and medical interpreting. She’s grateful for the excellent education she received at the University of Dayton based on service and love of neighbor, and that she had an initial “kick-start” immersion experience there that motivated her to become bilingual and a lifelong cultural learner. She can’t imagine what her life would be like if she hadn’t had that experience! She’s excited to be part of a team that provides such an impactful experience to young people, and hopes that it will ignite their hearts with a desire to learn more, to be curious, and to serve others.

Maribel Dionicio has a degree in Business Administration, specializing in International Economic Analysis. She has extensive experience in administrative and financial management within international cooperation projects, as well as training in economic, financial and market analysis. In addition to being a dynamic, proactive professional, Maribel has special interests in learning new languages, exploring new cultures and promoting diversity through student cultural immersion opportunities as a means of personal enrichment through the accumulation of new experiences. Maribel is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and experience to strengthen the Global Glimpse team as well as to help students explore a and understand what it means to be a global citizen.

Miguel A. Caraballo – Bonao

Miguel Angel Caraballo has had deep rooted love for the Dominican Republic since a very young age. A native New Yorker, born and raised in the Bronx of first generation Puerto Rican migrants, he grew up with Dominican customs. After completing his B.A. in Human Services from Metropolitan College of NY and a Masters in Social Work from Hunter College, he continued working in the nonprofit arena focused on serving youth. Last summer, Miguel joined our Global Glimpse Team as a Program Coordinator in Bonao and, although he has lived in the DR for the last five years, learned how unique exposure to such a grand culture can change the way we think about our daily lives back in the USA and how much impact we have globally in such a short period of time. He continues to call the DR his home and is looking forward to another amazing adventure with the glimpsers this summer.

Leury Baez

Leury Bàez was born in Constanza, Dominican Republic. Since the age of 12, he’s been working in the area of social responsibility with an association of Women in Development (MUDE). From that time on, he has been passionate about serving others, especially youth. His studies are oriented to technical areas (Electricity) and his university degree is in Industrial Engineering, yet has has gained experience working with young people in his church and the university, as well as experience working in the department of social responsibility of a multinational company all make him a dynamic combination for the job. Above all, he will bring his experience working with Global Glimpse as a Local Youth Ambassador last summer in Bonao to inform his vision and spark his passion this year as Program Coordinator. His favorite hobby is spending time with family and friends and playing pool.

Katherine Then – CONSTANZA 1

Katherine Then was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic and migrated to the U.S. with her family at age 7. Over the years, she’s had the opportunity to work, travel, and study in several countries such as Italy, Morocco, Spain, Japan, Myanmar and Indonesia. In the U.S. and Thailand, Katherine worked with programs that supported the well-being of its migrant communities. She strongly advocated for migrant day laborers, led education and psychosocial projects for youth, and assisted in the improvement of people’s access to effective and responsive services during humanitarian emergencies. Her dedication to child protection has led her to become an international accredited trainer on understanding and responding to children at risk. Katherine has a bachelor’s in Psychology from The College of Mount Saint Vincent and a master’s in International Development from Concordia University. With the opportunity to return to her home country, Katherine is delighted to be part of the Global Glimpse Team and she looks forward to creating a fun, challenging, and inspirational experience focused on global citizenship, community development, intercultural diversity and inclusion.

Francis García

Francis García was raised in Constanza and is studying modern languages and tourism. He was a member of the Global Glimpse Youth Ambassador Program and fell in love with the program and the way Global Glimpse helps students understand different cultures and have different experiences. Since then, he has been working as a tour guide and translator in Constanza, working to better help his community and develop his leadership skills. He is looking forward to meeting his Glimpsers and helping them to discover the wonders that the Dominican Republic has to offer them and to working with the Global Glimpse team.

Heyssel Udiell – CONSTANZA 2

Heyssel Udiell is a very passionate environmentalist born and raised in Nicaragua. She studied environmental technology and climate change in Portland, Oregon where she was a program coordinator for a summer camp at Zenger Farm. Heyssel has collaborated with several NGOs both locally and abroad to support multicultural and social programs. In 2016, Heyssel worked as a Program Coordinator for Global Glimpse in Estelí, Nicaragua and enjoyed seeing the impact and changing perspectives of the students through the experience. Heyssel is back to represent Global Glimpse in Constanza and looks forward to supporting students to see the world from a different perspective and inspiring them to become responsible global citizens and the leaders of tomorrow.

Felix Torres

Felix Torres was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and moved to Dayton, Ohio to earn a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and Master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education and Administration from Wright State University. He has been working with young adults transitioning out of secondary education as a Career Advisor at a local Community College in Dayton, Ohio. He strongly believes in the impact of transformational and cultural learning experiences, because they provide opportunities to become inspired and find a calling in life. His own transformational and cultural experiences have significantly impacted Felix career and personal goals. He is excited to join the Global Glimpse family as a PC, to help students enjoy their GG experience and to navigate the challenging decisions they have ahead.

Flora Maciel – SAN CRISTOBAL

Born in Michoacán, Mexico Flora Maciel immigrated to the state of Oregon at a young age. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Spanish from Linfield College. While studying at Linfield, Flora spent nearly eight months studying, volunteering and traveling throughout Ecuador. Flora spent her summer volunteering at a children’s hospital and at a refugee center in Quito, a very transformational experience for her. Her experiences in Ecuador sparked a curiosity to learn more about the diverse communities that inhabit this world. Flora has continued to explore other cultures while traveling to Spain, Morocco, Peru and Belize. Her experience as an immigrant and traveler allow her to understand the strong connection between studying abroad and becoming a global citizen. With a life purpose to assist, influence and encourage young learners to reach their life goals, Flora is thrilled to share her knowledge and help transform the lives her students in San Cristobal!

Isabel M. Frias López

Isabel was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in 1992. She is a student of the Catholic University of Santo Domingo (UCSD) majoring in economics. Characterized by having an enthusiastic and energetic personality with a passion for volunteering, she’s led coastal clean-ups and actively participated in volunteer projects with “Un Techo para mi Pais” in the areas of Villa Mella and Manoguayabo. Her social commitment also led her to be a representative for Model United Nations, participating in activities both nationally and internationally in New York between 2009 and 2016. These experiences helped develop her skill in debate and conflict resolution, and taught her how to build rapport with diverse cultures at worldwide level. In 2016, she also worked for TIC Americas which is sponsored by the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) doing simultaneous translation in Portuguese and English. In her spare time, she engages in theater in both Portuguese and in Spanish.


Hailing from the from the Canary Islands, Spain, Dámarit has a degree in International Relations from the Complutense of Madrid University. Due to her experiences while living and studying in Italy and the United Kingdom, and her passion for development and international cooperation, Dámarit decided to return to Madrid to pursue a Master’s degree in International Solidarity Action and Social Inclusion. She also has experience coordinating and working with volunteer groups in both Egypt and South Africa. All of these international experiences opened her up to learning, sharing and appreciating other cultures. She also worked in youth leadership development helping young people connect with volunteering projects aimed at promoting awareness of social problems. All these experiences helped to solidify her desire to continue helping to create global citizens that can work to improve the world.

Sixto Cabral Contreras

Sixto Cabral Contreras is a native of San Juan de la Maguana and is studying Modern Languages ​​with a major in English at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo. His passion for being involved in social and educational programs inspired him to join to the Global Glimpse Youth Ambassadors program last summer in San Juan where he gained experience and awareness through English Tutoring, Community Action Projects and raised awareness about local and global issues such as poverty, education and human rights. He considers education the key to changing the perspectives of young people and inspiring them to improve themselves and their families. Sixto looks forward to giving back to his community and to Global Glimpse by calling on his experience as former Youth Ambassador to demonstrate that compassion and hard work are important to achieve your goals and be an role model in your community.

Ecuador Staff

HectorHéctor Zamora, Ecuador Country Director

Hector’s involvement with Global Glimpse started in 2010 as a Program Coordinator when he expanded the program to its third city, Estelí, in his native country of Nicaragua. His ongoing involvement in social service projects (including working in slums and improvised settlements) was the result of 12 years of a socially-oriented Jesuit education and a deep commitment to social justice. After years of project management experience and coordinating field work with a number of INGO’s, he was awarded a leadership-based grant to attend graduate school at the University of Sydney. His studies are in Development and Sustainability with a focus on Anthropology. Hector’s interest in global affairs has taken him to travel to over 30 countries. Hector’s convictions are to provide comprehensive educational opportunities for everyone, and to support the development of committed leadership in youth. He is currently supporting the expansion of Global Glimpse to its third country, Ecuador.

Diego Soto – RIOBAMBA 1

Diego was born in Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas, Ecuador, where he lived throughout his primary and secondary school years. Pushing himself out of his comfort zone, Diego moved to Cuenca to attend the University of Azuay, where he studied Labor Psychology. With curiosity and passion to learn more about different people and cultures, Diego has lived in the US and the United Kingdom, where he continued his studies in Psychology and English. Through these experiences, Diego discovered his true passion for for social justice and social development especially within forgotten societies. Since then, Diego has worked with in the amazon of Ecuador leading different social projects in indigenous communities with groups of volunteers as well as tutoring and mentoring international volunteers from Europe. Diego’s experiences all around Ecuador has helped to shape his knowledge and understanding about the indigenous Cosmo vision in different areas such as: The amazon, coast or Andes region. Diego is excited to collaborate with Global Glimpse this season to share his knowledge of Ecuador with the glimpsers but also to learn from the experiences of others and the different perspectives of the world.

Evelyn Arce Chavarría

Evelyn was born in San José, Costa Rica and has developed a genuine passion for volunteering, traveling, cultural immersion and new opportunities to be challenged. After obtaining a degree in Psychology, Evelyn began working with the Costa Rican Red Cross as a psychologist, providing support to natural disaster victims and Red Cross Staff. Evelyn’s NGO work experience also includes coordinating development programs for rural communities in Central America (Costa Rica, Belize, Guatemala and Nicaragua) and supporting a Masai Culture Conservation program in Kenya. Throughout her years of experience in the field, Evelyn continued her education and received a Master’s degree in Humanities as well as a diploma on Social Innovation. Evelyn is looking forward to a new journey with Global Glimpse and meeting all of her glimpsers this summer.

Melissa Guadalupe – RIOBAMBA 2

Originally from the northern coast of Peru, Melissa has developed a career in education and community development that sparked in her a passion for traveling, cross-cultural understanding and global issues. After obtaining a degree in Languages Education, Melissa participated in a Professional Fellowship program hosted by the University of Connecticut where she learned about economic empowerment and youth involvement in social change. She’s also participated in the Ship for World Youth Leaders, an international exchange program hosted by the government of Japan, as a member of the Peruvian delegation, leading seminars on culture and project management for over 200 youths of 10 different countries while exploring some of Japan’s most important cities together. More recently, she spent a year and a half living in the archipelago of Bocas del Toro, Panama, where she led educational programs for the Ngöbe indigenous community in the island of Bastimentos as part of a locally embedded non-profit. Melissa is excited for the opportunity to explore Riobamba with her fellow team members, and to support Glimpsers as they learn about the culture and history of Ecuador and discover their leadership potential.

Ana María Umaña

Ana was born in San Jose, Costa Rica and has since traveled to various countries (Nicaragua, El Salvador, Panama, Brazil, the United States, Canada, Italy, and Israel – just to name a few) in pursuit of her passion for education, development, and nature. Her passion for teaching developed in 2008 while she was still an English student at the University of Costa Rica (UCR), which led her to work as an English teacher in public and private schools in Costa Rica. While enrolled in a Masters program focused on Translation and a Bachelors’ in International Affairs at the National University (UNA), she made the decision to volunteer in Quijingue, Bahia (Brazil) as a community development volunteer for six month. After her experience in Brazil, Ana obtained her Master’s degree and began working with Peace Corps, Costa Rica overseeing the Language & Cultural Facilitation department before transitioning to work with the TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Team, focused on Training Delivery, and Programming. Ana is super excited to live in Riobamba and to be part of the Global Glimpse family.

With a Stanford MBA and a BS from UC Berkeley, he left years of management experience in Fortune 500 companies to follow his dream to change the world by inspiring its next generation of leaders. Abbas credits his passion for global education to his contrasting experiences in the US and abroad. To date he has lived and traveled to more than 40 countries around the world, a feat not commonly shared with his childhood peers in Ohio and Kansas.

Tressa’s understanding of the important connections between local action and global impact was formed at a young age, when she was fortunate to live outside the US as a teenager. The desire to responsibly explore and question the world was cemented through Peace Corps Service in West Africa, and then work abroad in education, peace and security and partnership issues. With deep commitment to both improving formal education systems and promoting global citizenship through all possible means, Tressa greatly enjoys serving the Global Glimpse community. Tressa is a Director at ELMA Philanthropies Services, the philanthropic advisory arm of the ELMA Group of Foundations. She holds a BA in International Relations from Stanford University and an MPA from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.

Krishna has, over the years, lived, studied and worked in the US, UK and India and travels extensively for work and leisure. Aisha previously worked at GBCHealth as a membership advisor leveraging resources of the world’s leading companies to address global health and development challenges. She also organized the private sector delegation to the Global Fund Board. Because of the impact international exposure has had on her own life, Aisha is passionate about broadening the horizons of youth to ignite curiosity, empathy and a desire to make a difference not just a living. Aisha holds a BA from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.

Jennifer believes strongly in the both the power of increasing global awareness among America’s youth and the value of learning through experience.  Her passion for these two ideas stems from her international study in college and from her life now, raising three boys in a diverse multi-cultural community.  Jennifer is an accomplished marketing and operating executive with deep experience connecting and engaging people with brands in a multi-platform world. She has extensive background leadeing consumer strategy for some of the most iconic and successful media brands in the world including PEOPLE, InStyle, Entertainment Weekly, and Essence. She lends her content marketing expertise to help tell the Global Glimpse story to a growing audience of students, educators and donors. Jennifer is a graduate of Dartmouth College.


Michelle Patrick

Michelle works in Corporate Sustainability at PG&E and holds an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and a BA in Economics and Math from UCSB. Michelle is a proud member of the SF Glide Ensemble and loves exploring new places.

Mr. Tamer, is an avid traveller and youth advocate whose daily work constantly reminds him of the need for American youth to be world savvy to remain competitive. As a Board member Mr. Tamer focuses on ensuring donor funds are used efficiently and effectively while maximizing program quality. Cornelia has 20 years of experience in social sector leadership with multi-ethnic, multi-racial populations such as at-risk teens, girls of color, immigrant families and impoverished communities.  Her inspiration for serving others started as a young volunteer babysitter for neglected and abused children at a local family center and grew into a distinguished career of providing education and empowerment to people and organizations making a difference.  Cornelia has engaged world leaders, humanitarians, corporate founders, economists, politicians and celebrities through her work.  At home, she can be found playing Ninja-puppy games and conducting far-out science experiments with her 7 year-old daughter, Olivia.

Damon Petite

Damon has over a decade of experience running marketing programs for some of America’s most beloved brands. He currently works at LinkedIn as part of the LinkedIn Learning Product Marketing Team. Damon holds a MBA from the University of Virginia and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Florida. In his free time he loves traveling, cooking and almost anything that involves getting outside (hiking, biking, kayaking, etc.).

Daniel Clayton

Daniel Clayton works as a Private Equity Research Associate at Hall Capital Partners LLC, an investment advisory based in San Francisco. He also co-leads the San Francisco branch of the November Project, a free fitness movement that started in Boston. He holds a BS in Finance and Marketing from Northeastern University and enjoys running, not running, playing guitar, and eating burritos.

Edgar Nuñez

Edgar architects digital space into user-friendly web applications as a User Experience Designer. With Global Glimpse, he led trips to León and Estelí, Nicaragua, which proved to him the value of co-created projects. He received his BA in Mathematics from UC Santa Cruz and later focused on Human-Computer Interaction during his Masters program at University of Michigan School of Information. Edgar knows that cultural exchange can not be substituted by digital experiences and he is enthusiastic to support Global Glimpse in making global citizenry more accessible.


Ellen Choi

Ellen is cofounder and CEO of Meekaboo, a startup that makes mobile apps for kids. She holds a MBA from Harvard and BA in Econ from Stanford and likes to think of herself as a part-time engineer as she is teaching herself how to code. She enjoys good eats, yoga, and traveling to developing countries.


Eric Sanabria

Eric is the Chair of the Bay Area Advisory Board and is on the Partnerships Team at Google. He led a Global Glimpse trip to Leon, Nicaragua in 2011, and has been involved since. He holds a BA from Dartmouth and is a graduate of the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs. A music enthusiast, Eric is often at a concert or playing lead guitar with his band Deep Fried.

Husayn Hasan

Husayn is a real estate acquisitions associate for UBS. He loves to eat, run, and travel – and fortunately for him, part of his role includes traveling up and down the west coast exploring cities and neighborhoods. He holds a BA from UC Santa Barbara in business economics and political science with an emphasis in public service.


James Pesuit

James heads up the Life Science Analytics team at a healthcare technology start-up called Practice Fusion. His background is in big data analytics across the financial services and healthcare domains, including a year long consulting project based out of Sydney Australia.

JenMarie Besner

JenMarie is Vice Chair of the Bay Area Advisory Board and is responsible for Executive Operations at Tides. She holds a Master’s in Global Affairs from NYU and a BS in Business Administration from UC Berkeley. Having been to over 35 countries, it is safe to say that JenMarie is passionate about travel; she also studies flamenco dance, and loves music, architecture, literature, and food.


Julie Redfern

Julie has focused her career on the global expansion of consumer brands including C. Wonder, the NBA and Gilt Groupe. She holds a BA in International Relations from Stanford and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Julie lived in Greater China for 5 years, speaks Mandarin Chinese, and travels often to Asia and other parts of the world.

Mitchell is originally from the southwest suburbs of Chicago, and now lives in San Francisco, working in People Operations for Google. Mohammad Barkeshli is an Investment Research Associate at Hall Capital Partners, where he focuses part of his time on the firm’s Full Consequence Investing™ initiative, integrating sustainability factors across investment portfolios for high net worth families, endowments, and institutions. Prior to joining Hall Capital, Mohammad was a director at Bakhita Girls, an education program in Tanzania that he co-founded.  He has lived across three continents and traveled to 29 countries. Mohammad serves as a Board Member at the Foundation for Sustainable Development, is a Rising Leader at Full Circle Fund, and sits on the grant committee of Hall Capital Partners’ Charitable Fund. He earned his B.A. in Economics and Comparative Literature from New York University.

Victoria is part of the Leadership committee and works at Minted, a crowd-sourced graphic design ecommerce company that sells designs in the form of paper goods. She received her Master’s in the UK at the University of Sussex, and B.A. at UCLA. She has traveled to countries on 6 continents and can’t wait to plan her next adventure.

Mohammed grew up in Hong Kong and pursued his passion in product design at Stanford. In college he started a company creating a cost-effective way to help students in India learn to read by putting same language subtitles on Bollywood film songs. In 2008 Mohammed met up with the Siri team and joined as their first product manager. They launched Siri in 2010 as an app on the iPhone before getting acquired by Apple and launching Siri as the first truly automated personal assistant on the iPhone. These days you will find Mohammed traveling between India and New York pursuing his love of entrepreneurship in creating the first virtual English teacher inside of WhatsApp to help low-income students land their first job.

behringerAllison Behringer

Allison Behringer grew up in Maryland and attended Princeton University where she studied sociology and played field hockey and lacrosse. A summer internship at an orphanage in India set her on a path that took her to South Africa the next summer, then to Thailand to teach English through a Princeton in Asia fellowship, to the Bronx to teach English, back to Asia to launch a women’s health education non-profit in India, then back to the States to complete a documentary studies program. She is now the host and producer of the podcast, The Intern, and is currently freelancing in podcast production and audio storytelling.

A native Texan, she was first bitten by the travel bug during a middle school trip to Europe. She is a senior manager at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, serving major multinational clients, focusing on financial reporting, internal controls and M&A transactions within the financial services industry. Lea graduated from the LILLE SKEMA Business School and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in the State of New York and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Tes Cohen is currently Operations Coordinator at Gap Inc’s Foundation and is also studying to obtain a Master’s in Public Administration at NYU Wagner’s School of Public Service. She graduated with a BA in Psychology and Hispanic Studies from Connecticut College. After college, Tes served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Costa Rica and is thrilled to support Global Glimpse as it combines two of her greatest passions- international education and youth development.

Anusha, originally from India, considers herself a global citizen. She loves learning new languages, is an aspiring food critic, and has an incurable case of wanderlust. At Barclays, she has led multiple diversity initiatives including shaping the Women in Tech agenda. She is a recent graduate from NYU Stern and is currently focused on improving her Mandarin skills.

David is a dedicated non-profit professional focused on the intersection of international education and college access. He currently serves as an Account Manager for the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI). Prior to CGI, David worked as a Project Specialist with the Institute of International Education, served as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Brooklyn, and taught English in South Korea. He holds a BA in Nonfiction Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and an MA in Higher Education Administration from New York University. In his spare time, he can be found reading in Fort Greene Park or wandering Brooklyn for new eats.

Deena Elmaghrabi is an Assistant Vice President at Barclays where she focuses on management reporting. She holds a BBA in Finance and Business Economics & Public Policy from The George Washington University and also studied at Sciences Po in Paris. She is passionate about new adventures, reading, crochet and conversations as a means of building bridges.

Stella is an associate at Arnold & Porter LLP. She represents developers, insurance companies and financial institutions in the financing and restructuring of real estate assets across the country. A native of the Washington D.C. metro area, Stella is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis School of Law and the University of Pennsylvania. She enjoys discovering new music, cycling and photography.

Catie, a native of Louisiana, has called New York home for the last 12 years. She is a Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she focuses on risk management, internal controls and project management for large multinational companies. She is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and a Certified Internal Auditor. She graduated with a BS in Accounting and a minor in Political Science from Louisiana State University. Living abroad provided Catie the opportunity to travel in a meaningful way, volunteering her time in Asia and Africa. Catie is excited about her involvement with Global Glimpse and supporting a mission that is close to her heart.

Melissa is an Associate Director of Product Management and Market Outreach at The College Board and has spent her entire career in the education sector. She holds a BA from Indiana University and an MPA from New York University’s Graduate School of Public Service specializing in Management. During her undergraduate years, Melissa had the opportunity to study abroad in Cape Town, South Africa where she experienced first hand the power and importance of international exposure. Melissa believes strongly in and is excited to support Global Glimpses’ mission.


Daniel Morgan

Daniel serves as chair of the NYC advisory board and works on web animation software at a software company in San Francisco called Tumult. He’s lucky enough to help artists, teachers, and journalists make the most of web animation. He’s a major fan of the power of Global Glimpse, travel, and responsible technology.

Nikki is a CSR and communications professional with thorough experience of driving employee engagement, volunteering and youth employment programs in various global organisations and currently works at Gap Inc. She is from the UK and has travelled, volunteered and worked aboard in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Australasia. Nikki has a BA in History from the University of Liverpool and is passionate about travel, exploring different cultures and inspiring young people to reach their full potential.

Lily is a Bay Area native living in New York since 2013. She’s the Supervisor of Digital Production at Vice Media in Brooklyn and works with a talented team of producers making content for TV, web and mobile platforms. Lily graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Communication and History. She followed this with a six year stint in Los Angeles working in the film and commercial production industry before making the leap to New York.

Originally from California, Alicia has lived in New York City for the last six years. She holds a BS in Psychology from California Polytechnic State University and an MPH from San Diego State University. While at SDSU, Alicia participated in multiple health education outreach projects in rural Mexico. She enjoys traveling, running and her dog, Roxy.

Melanie is passionate about inspiring youth to break their mental boundaries, so they are free to pursue their own path. She is excited to work with Global Glimpse to give youth a vision of a better world. Melanie currently serves as the Director of Operations for KIPP NYC, where she ensures the implementation and maintenance of efficient school-based operational systems that allow the principal and teachers to focus on students and families. Prior to joining KIPP NYC, Melanie worked in various industries gaining experience in data analytics, operations management, alumni engagement and youth education. She has also consulted with education non-profits in Brazil and Mexico. Melanie holds an MBA in Finance & Non-Profit Management from Columbia Business School, and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech. In her spare time, Melanie enjoys traveling, cooking, yoga, and training for triathlons.

Ashley Christie

Ashley is a senior consultant in Fraud Investigation and Dispute Services at Ernst and Young in Chicago. This is her first job since graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. and Master’s degree in accounting. Ashley’s enjoys traveling to new countries, trying authentic foods and any outdoor activities, including running and hiking.

Jonathan Dillon

Jonathan is passionate about leadership and the tremendous responsibility of being a leader. He believes that leadership is about leaving the world better then when you found it. He has had the opportunity to travel to many different countries (Spain, German, and the Dominican Republic, to name a few) and see many different cultures. He believes that these experiences shaped him and is excited to serve a team dedicated to giving these experiences to students.

Mehul Doshi

Mehul is an avid traveller who has lived, studied and worked in both India and US. Mehul believes in a rich connected world which is enhanced by sharing of thoughts, ideas, culture and values to better promote the concept of humanity. Mehul is the Managing Director of Software Engineering at Tribune Publishing based in Chicago.

Kit Leitner

Kit is a graduate of the University of Denver with passions for food, travel and bringing people together. As an Account Executive at an advertising agency, she loves the opportunity to meet and connect with new people. Kit takes as many trips as possible but is always happy to come back home to Chicago.


Molly MacCready

Molly is a Chicago native with a passion for education and youth empowerment. While in college, Molly studied abroad in Uganda where she learned about development, culture and politics through engaging hands­on experiences. She is excited to be on the Global Glimpse Advisory Board to help make similar opportunities available for others. Molly currently works as the Executive Director of CROSO, a nonprofit she founded that provides college scholarships to former street children in Uganda. In her free time, she loves to travel, spend time with family and work on the Nonprofit Optimist podcast.

Eitan Neumark

Eitan is in Chicago by way of San Francisco and the University of Michigan, where he majored in Psychology and Economics, and currently works at FTI Consulting, doing data analytics for litigation consulting. He has a passion for travel that was instilled in him at a young age, and has been to over 25 countries, including taking a gap year before college to Israel, studying abroad in Beijing, going on extended backpacking trips around Europe and Southeast Asia, and much more. He is very excited to serve on the Global Glimpse Advisory Board, and help high-schoolers get incredible, valuable experiences abroad. Besides working and traveling, Eitan enjoys recreational sports, Michigan football and basketball, board games, cooking, and has plans to pursue an MBA.

Diana Rechenmacher is a senior auditor in the Assurance practice at Ernst and Young in Chicago. This is her first job since graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. degree in accounting. Diana has had the opportunity to work abroad with Ernst & Young in Munich, Germany. Back in college, she studied abroad in Ireland and Turkey and visited England, Spain, and France as part of these experiences. Diana enjoys traveling both domestically and internationally, cooking, running, and working in a group environment. Diana is excited to provide similar opportunities to all students that come through the Global Glimpse program.

Bryce Rinkenberger

Bryce Rinkenberger has a strong passion for sustainability and international development. Having lived in three countries (and counting), he loves living abroad and interacting with different cultures. After obtaining a BS in Crop and Soil Sciences from Michigan State University, Bryce has worked with the Department of Agriculture and as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay. He currently works as a Regional Recruiter for Peace Corps in Chicago. When not working, Bryce enjoys running, winter activities, and drinking coffee.

Cody Rodgers

Cody serves as the Co-Chair of Chicago’s Advisory Board and is the Director of Communications for the Noble Network of Charter Schools in Chicago. Previously, he studied International Relations at West Point and served several years as an Army officer. When not supporting some of the city’s most deserving public school students, you can find him on the soccer field.

Dylan Osborne

Dylan grew up in the Chicago area and was drawn to travel at a young age. He attended the University of Wisconsin­ Madison and studied History and Political Science, where his desire to learn about different cultures grew. After studying abroad in Prague, Czech Republic and traveling across most of Central Europe this desire only intensified. Dylan currently works at Compass Professional Health Services as part of the consulting department.

Shane Reif

Shane Reif is a Human Resources Business Partner at Hill-Rom, a medical device company.  Prior to a career in healthcare, Shane worked for Head Start, which is dedicated to providing resources to children and families that need them most.  A Kansas native,  Shane enjoys exploring Chicago, traveling, and time spent with friends and family.

Emma Wensley

Emma, originally from Australia, now calls Chicago home after relocating in 2010 to pursue a wonderful career opportunity. She is currently a Senior Program Manager responsible for leading cross-functional teams to develop and launch generic specialty injectable medicines. She holds an MBA from LFGSM in Illinois and a BSc from Swinburne University in Melbourne Australia. She enjoys time with family and friends, cycling and traveling to new places.

Luiza Bonet Rocha

Luiza currently studies in Chicago and works remotely for a Brazilian company which develops clean energy. She graduated in Environmental Engineering in Brazil, and was always driven by challenges. Her love for different cultures motivated her to travel through the most diverse countries around the world, and being able to be an advisory board member at Global Glimpse is a great opportunity to make an impact and transform young people’s lives.

Marcus Smith, LCPC

Marcus grasps the transformation the youth experience traveling to exotic countries. Traveling to Bavaria, Germany and Paris in graduate school, Mr Smith will never forget how his perception of self, and how he saw the world and his role in it blossom as he explored cultures beyond his own. Advocating for individual congruence has been a passion since his early years of mentoring and outreach in underserved communities. Currently Marcus is a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2013. He also received his Masters in Clinical Counseling, Child & Adolescent Specialization from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2011. Beyond his work as a program therapist at Riveredge Hospital and clinical consultant for Evans & Evans Counseling and Changing Perspectives private practice, Marcus enjoys exercising, dancing, and live music.

Melanie Stewart

Melanie Stewart is an attorney who counsels employers on preventing and resolving disputes with their employees. Melanie believes in the value of cultural exposure and global education. In her formative years, she participated in a student exchange program in Barcelona, Spain and, in college, studied developmental economics in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Melanie enjoys travel, figure skating and exploring Chicago’s restaurant scene. She holds a B.S. from the ILR School at Cornell University and a J.D. from Howard University School of Law.

Kristine Young

Kristine is an intellectual property attorney at Mayer Brown LLP in Chicago where she has been practicing law for over 7 years. She has a B.S.  in accounting and computer information systems from Indiana University-Bloomington and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois – Champaign/Urbana. She is also a Certified Public Accountant. While in college, Kristine studied abroad at the University of Wollongong in Australia and has been an avid traveler since a young age. In her spare time, Kristine enjoys running, hiking and a variety of outdoor activities, traveling and spending time with family, friends and her dog , Milton.
