Hello all! So today was a pretty eventful day! We woke up at 6:00 A.M. and began our day working like locals. We began our day by eating cereal and fruit which was super yummy, and then we went on our way to work at Jonathan’s green house where we harvested tomatoes. It was kinda tricky getting a hang of it at first, but once the workers taught us how to do it correctly it was a piece of cake. The local workers were super kind and very open about their lives. After working like a local we went back home to eat lunch which consisted of fish, rice, and vegetables. After lunch we then went to Canada Las Palmas to present our CAP project, (Community Action Project). We all as a whole decided that we are going to fix their community center by painting the walls and also repair the tables and chairs. After presenting to Canada Las Palmas we arrived back home for a delicious dinner of pasta, salad, and bread. As leader of the day I learned that it is very important to be on top of everything and it is good to know the schedule for that day. Overall the day was really long, but eventfully fun. Thanks for reading! (By the way, hi fam <3).
I am so happy that you guys are learning to delegate jobs and that each of you is getting a chance to be a leader for a day. That will be very handy when some of you guys come back to the States and apply for jobs or volunteer. Keep up the good work.
Hi Brianna I have been waiting to read your blog! It sounds like you a hardworking day. That’s great you’re going to paint the center and fix the table and chairs. Sounds like more hard work is heading your way, yet I believe this will be your most rewarding work on your trip. You leave behind a lasting testament to your visit and commitment to giving back to a community that has opened up it’s arms and hearts to welcome Glimpsers 2016! Brianna great jobbing keeping everyone on task. Sending you hugs and more hugs! Love you Bri 🙂

Hi Glimpsers. Picking tomatoes and giving the community center a makeover!! Wow! Sounds like you guys are very busy and are working hard. I love the project you chose to do. I think your work will leave a lasting impression on the locals for years to come.
I love how you decided to combine forces and work together as one group. Very impressive.
Have a safe and wonderful friday.
Bijan’s Mom
PS Bijan, take a before and after photo of the community center project. Love you Son.
Hey Lila! That sounds like an awesome day! It sure sounded like a lot of fun.Working like a local must have been a pretty cool experience. What a great C.A.P., by the way! I’ll bet the Constanza community is grateful! All is well back home. Daddy and his friends are planning their annual bozo camping trip. Today in the comic “Baby Blues” a new character is introduced: Hammie’s new friend Eric, the, and I quote, “hyperactive yodeler.” I had another dream last night about your return. I woke up hugging the base of my bed. Elena, our neighbor, came over yesterday and looked at the blog. She asked hat it was like to have my sister away, and I responded, “It feels like someone stole a chunk of my soul.” I’ve been taking care of Big-Ear-Bunny for you, so don’t worry. Tell Sock Monkey I said, “Hi. I am literally counting the hours until you get back. 123 hours as of
12:30pm today your time (9:30am here when I’m sending this.) Take care, Best Friend! I love you more than is possible to fabricate the idea of quantity in your mind. I can’t wait to see you!
Totally, completely, utterly, immensely, hugely, collosally, omnipotently, incredibly, absolutely, literally ALL OF MY LOVE, Rosalie
Good evening, Glimpsers! You’ll all remember this day whenever you grow, buy, or eat tomatoes. I always loved the smell of tomato leaves. I hope you do too since you spent the day among them. The CAP project sounds like a fun and meaningful project.
Lila, I took pictures of Rosalie with Mr. Smiles since yesterday might have been her last time at Canyon. Then Elena came over so I could show her how to leave a post. She stayed for lunch and a game of Apples to Apples.
Can you see Orion in the night sky? It’s a winter constellation here, but I think you can see it year-round there. Seeing a familiar row of stars made me feel connected to home when I was in Belize.
Hope you are all having another lovely day!
Love, Lila’s Mom
Hey Bri! Excited to see you finally writing a journal, sounds like a nice day I’m excited for the outcome of your community project, sounds like fun!
There is no blog for friday night for me to post a comment that will be read on saturday!!! So I am writing on thursday’s blog. I hope you are all well. Bijan we here at home hope you had the most amazing 17th birthday!!!!! We miss you so so much and can’t wait for you to come home!!!! Hugs and kisses to infinite and beyond. So proud of you. Love Mom oxoxoxoxox
Thank-you Glimpsers for your awesome blogs. It’s great that you guys are getting first hand experiences about how other people live and work in other parts of the world. I know for Bijan its another world compared to San Ramon suburbia. That being said, most people have the common aspiration of a better life for themselves and their children.
Happy 17th Birhday Bijan!!! Its seems like yesterday when you born with a tuft of brown hair and the nurse noticed your dimples. Since then, your hair had had various permutations (Beckham, Ronaldo, Kobe, New Wave etc) and now a surprising mutation to blonde. Yes, I confirmed the pictures with your little sister Ariana. Keep your eye on the ball, stay on the straight and narrow and you will do well. Proud of you!
Dad
Hey Lila /Bestie,
I miss you so much!!! I went over to your house yesterday and had lunch with your mom and Rosalie and they explained to me how to leave a reply for you on this website. You guys seem like you’re having lots of fun!! I just got back from New Mexico. It was 95 degrees every day!! My mom, dad and I visited Bandilier and climbed up all the tall ladders to the old native american cliff homes.
I was excited to hear from your mom that since you aren’t going to sea ranch right after you come back that I will be able to spend more time with you (and maybe go stand up paddle boarding). I think that the project you are going to do to improve the local community center is great and I think all the locals will definitely appreciate it.
I’m supposed to be finishing up packing for my camping trip right now. Isabella, mom, Vicky and I are going camping on Vicky’s land. Anyways I just wanted to say Hi and tell you that I am thinking about you and eagerly waiting your return. I Love you,
Your bestie Elena (: <3
Happy Birthday Bijan!
Hola Sofia and Glympsters, happy to hear you learned what a local job is like, and very proud of you of choosing to fix the community center. You will remember these days forever and these people will always remember you with great appreciation.
Saludos y un beso y abrazo a Sofia
