Hi everyone!! Today was our second day of executing our Community Action Project, and we couldn’t have been more excited to hit the ground running.  We woke up bright and early this morning at 6:30, had a nutritious breakfast of chicken and plantains, and hopped on the bus to travel to Nutre Hogar.  We arrived at Nutre Hogar around 8:45 and started to work hard on our three separate projects as a unified team until our lunch break at 12:00.  From painting wooden planks and replacing chains on the playground, to sketching and painting a beautiful mural in the garden, to finishing the placement of the puzzle play mats in the classroom, all of us were proud of the progress we made towards enriching Nutre Hogar. As a whole, our efforts will positively impact and change the children’s lives.  After lunch we all returned to our projects and made sure we stayed hydrated while working in the hot weather conditions. Around 4:00 we began to conclude and clean up our projects to finally head back to the hotel to shower and get some well deserved rest.

At 5:30 everyone came together in our tutoring groups to plan our final tutoring lesson at the Colegio Jose Daniel Crespo.  We collectively had a fun and enriching time teaching our students English and helping to develop their skills. Afterward, we headed back to the hotel to have our dinner and our nightly meeting.  Our group is ready to take on our last and final day of our Community Action Project tomorrow, and we all can’t wait to see the finished product and know that we’ve made a huge difference in the lives of the children at Nutre Hogar!

Shout out to my mom, Jeff, Davis, Dakota, and all my friends back at home! I miss and love you all so much!!
