Hi everyone! My name is Joselyn and I’m very excited to be traveling this summer :)). I am 16, from NYC, and currently a rising senior at the Lab School of Finance and Technology. My goal as of now is to hopefully major in psychology by the Fall of ’23. I have always been one to care very deeply about my grades/studies, so I always make sure to give an academic performance that I’m truly proud of. My dream school is Columbia University, and I am truly working tirelessly to make that happen.

Personally, I love being on my feet and being involved in many things. For many years, I have been working as a tutor for students ranging from elementary to high school. I try my best to participate in different extracurriculars that range from class council, choir, theatre, to my school’s newspaper. If there is one thing about me that you should know, it is that I will always be participating in something– Involvement is key!

I have never been out of the country before so I am as excited as I am nervous! But as a Puertorican, I am personally looking forward to learning more about the Hispanic culture and heritage. I am someone who is very proud to be Boricua, and I take a lot of pride in expressing that to the world. I’m 100% sure that despite the very long process that it took to get where we are, this trip will be worth it.

Some things that I like to do on my free time all have to do with music or writing. As an introvert, nothing makes me happier than writing in bed, and singing my favorite song. Other interests of mine include makeup, fashion, keeping up with reality television, dancing, and playing video games, but that is definitely just me on the surface, I like to think that my character runs much deeper.

But anyways, I’m looking forward to this trip, and to meeting everyone! See you all on the trip! <33.
