Hello my fellow Ecuadorian travelers! My name is Pam Johnson and I will be one of your GG leaders on our amazing trip to Riobamba starting July 3rd! Ecuador has been on my bucket list for years and I am so very excited about this trip and meeting all of you. First, a little about me, I grew up near Chicago and attended the University of Illinois. While at U of I, I studied abroad and caught the travel bug! After finishing university, I moved to England and taught science in a small town north of London for 4 years. While there, I traveled a lot of Europe. I’ve loved everywhere I’ve been but my favorites are Dubrovnik, Ljubljana, Marrakesh, Dusseldorf, Havana, Sydney and Matagalpa (on my previous Global Glimpse trip!).
I moved back to Chicago with my husband in 2012 where we live in Wicker Park with our little terrier, Luke and big pittie, Rusty. I love trying new food, nerd-ing out to all things science, hanging out with my two-year-old nephew and helping to foster rescue animals. In my decade in education, I have taken students backpacking in the mountains of Poland, sightseeing in Paris, on a cultural excursion to Madrid, a service learning trip in Costa Rica and a Global Glimpse trip to Nicaragua. I have seen firsthand the truly transformation experience that can happen when students travel abroad and can’t wait to experience Ecuador with you!
Wow Pam – What great places you have been! Thrilled to have you as a GG Leader, I’m sure you will teach this group a lot. Looking forward to the blogs…
