Good evening to the families and friends of our travelers. We (Gaby and Lee) write you tonight after our first full day in Ecuador. Things are going very well and we are so excited at the friendliness and inclusiveness the members of the group have displayed. Right now there is a very large, loud, and laughter-filled board game session taking place. We will have to call “lights out” as the students are unlikely to think to go to bed on their own😀. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, exceeds our expectations.
To summarize our day: a scenic buss ride from Quito, an introduction to the hotel and staff, norm-setting, and two tasty meals in the restaurant where we will usually eat. But mainly some jolly ice breaking between the students and leaders.
