Hola Glimpsers,

Ms. Rodriguez conquering her fear of heights in Costa Rica.

My name is Marylin Rodriguez and I will be one of three Global Glimpse Leaders (or GGLs) traveling with you tomorrow. I am a US-born, Honduran-raised, Spanish Teacher with a crazy love for living and traveling abroad. My goal: to visit 50 countries and all 50 states before I’m 50! (I’m currently at 32 states and 34 countries and counting). I invite you to ask me all kinds of questions about how and when I made time to do this whilst still being a full-time student and subsequently a teacher.

In my most recent stint abroad, I spent 2 years in London where I supported young people who were struggling to get back into employment or education through a program sponsored by the European Social Fund. Now that I’m back in the States, I work with a non-profit called Leadership for Educational Equity.

This will be my 4th time leading a group of students abroad but my first with Global Glimpse. Previously, I have taken students to Costa Rica, Puerto Rico and Honduras. The groups I have traveled with have ranged from middle school to college-aged students.

I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to help you get the most out of this unique experience. I believe Global Glimpse’s multi-faceted approach to leadership development and community involvement offer THE best learning experience for young emerging leaders.

Sooo…make sure to pack a dose of flexibility and a whole lot of positive attitude! I can’t wait to see everyone early tomorrow morning 😊
