Holaaaa! My name is Evelyn, and my name is Saira. We were today’s Leaders of the Day! Today was Adventure Fun Fay.  As Leaders of the Day we woke up at 5:30 A.M. in order to get ready and wake the rest up at 6:00 A.M. After breakfast, the Global Glimpse Leaders read us the comments that have been left on our blog. It was nice to hear words from back home.

We were then able to go to 27 Charcos in Puerto Plata, which is 2 hours away from Bonao. First we got safety gear, such as life jackets and helmets. Then we hiked up for about 35 minutes. After the hike we jumped from one part of the waterfall to the next. The length of the jumps varied, the shortest jumping length being 4 feet and the longest jumping length being 25 feet. Apart from the jumps there were also various natural water slides. The water felt cold at first, but it was very refreshing due to the heat. It was beautiful scenery because of the clear water and lush forest.  Amongst all the Glimpsers, there were some who did not know how to swim. However, many of them found the courage to take a risk and try the activity. Glimpsers who are able to swim helped the other glimpsers.  Everybody was very supportive of one another.  Once we were done with the activity we had a buffet style lunch which consisted of white rice, beans, chicken, salad, hot dogs, spaghetti, and yucca.

After lunch we went back on the bus to head back home. Once we were back we were able to shower and get ready to explore some more. Many people decided to head out for pizza, ice cream, and the supermarket. Explore time lasted about 2 hours. After arriving home we had dinner, which consisted of empanadas de pollo y pizza. To end our day, we had our nightly meeting where we talked about our day. Overall, Adventure Fun Day was a very challenging yet fun day. As Leaders of the Day, we faced our own challenges starting off our day, but working together we were able to have a successful day. To end this blog we invite everybody to take a SALUD with us. (That means to take a drink of water)

We hope you enjoy the blog and the pictures.

The Leaders of the Day,

Saira and Evy
