Today we had an Adventure Fun Day where we went to Arroyazo, a natural pool. When we arrived, we were greeted by crystal clear yet freezing cold water. Many of the students were afraid to jump in for various reasons. Some didn’t know how to swim while other just didn’t want to deal with the cold. Although we encountered these issues, everyone encouraged each other and eventually we got everyone into the water. After about an hour or so at Arroyazo, we headed back home and prepared for our English classes which went smoothly. Next Friday will be our last class, we will teach the kids for a few minutes and they will then take a 30-40 minute survey to reflect on the effectiveness of our teaching methods. On Sunday, the kids will be graduating from school which will mark the end of our teaching journey in Constanza.  Although today was a fun, I learned to get out of my comfort zone and explore new things. Everyone was so brave and wanted to push their limits, this inspired me and really brought us closer together as a group. From this day, I feel everyone gained a greater appreciation for each other and we all now have a tremendous amount of respect for each other. Today I was moved by the mental strength of my friend Carlos. His bravery and head-first attitude to jump in the water really inspired me. Although he didn’t know how to swim, he just went for it and it resulted in us having a great day! Today was a hard day for me as I was alone for Leader of the Day. This was a struggle that taught me a lot about myself. I am usually a quite shy and nervous kid which made this difficult for me. Due to this job, I was able to get out of my comfort zone and be more assertive than I usually am as I had to keep everyone on track and constantly remind them of the times.

THE NATURAL POOL WAS THE GREATEST THING EVERY!
