It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood today, not too hot or too cold. It was just right. We started the day off with ham, eggs, and toast with Jamaica juice… extremely delicious. Afterwards we had a very deep conversation about Aid and Development, many of the Glimpsers made absolutely fantastic points. Also, today was the first part of the Community Action Project. The Glimpsers went to Sor Maria, one of the schools here in Matagalpa, which was amazing. We interacted with the students who were in grades 1st through 4th, many of the younger students and the Glimpsers were overjoyed the entire time. It was hard, as the Leader of the day, to make the other Glimpsers get on the bus and say their goodbyes to the students. After our long goodbyes we went to the Hope Project Office and had Norman, one of the founders of the Hope Project Office, talk to us about many projects they have done in the past and present. Big love to Lesley for translating Norman’s speech. Norman was a very inspiring person, he has faced many challenges like blackmail and dependency from families and is still determined to help children, give them hope and happiness. Our Community Action Project is apart of the Hope Project Office. We just want to give happiness. After a long day we had lunch, which was rice chicken and bread. Then we started talking about the English classes all of us will be teaching, can’t wait it sounds exciting. Today was an early dinner and fantabulous nachos were served to all the students. Lastly, the usual nightly meetings took place, lots of positive criticism, love, and jokes were told. Also, I passed down my awesomeness and the torch to the Supreme Leader, Alex.

Hi Adrian, Marlene, Ms Johnson, and the Glimpsers!
I’m so excited to read your blog posts and see all the cool things you’re doing! I love seeing you interact with the kids and learning about the Hope Project! I can’t wait to hear all about your trip when you return!!
<3 from Chicago,
Ms MacCallum
What a great blog entry, thank you for sharing. Sounds like a thought provoking day(s) full of meaningful experiences. Great to see Haley, Alex, August and Lee! Keep up the good work, so proud of all the Global Glimpsers.
Wow! That sounds so full from wake up to sleep. Not only does it sound like you all are onding with the experience but also with each other. That makes me happy. Hopefully this will result in some lifetime relationships. Here we have been busy amd Nayla there was a bad storm after a day of fireworks so your dog is extra nuts. We miss you Nayla.
Looking forward to hearing more about Hope Project. What a great experience to have met someone like Norman, who continues to fight for what he believes in. A good lesson to take away and make a part of your own lives. There will be obstacles in life but if you believe and work hard towards the goals you have set for yourself, you will be rewarded with a wonderful life.
August, I hope you’re able to speak Spanish with some of the locals and presenters. Love seeing your smiling face. So proud of all of you.
*So proud of all of you.
Hola Alexjo! This is Tyrrell, your mother. I assume since you are The Supreme Leader you will continue to be too busy to say hi. It’s good you get to be AWESOME in another country. Pleased to hear you are eating fruit. I liked the picture of you on all fours, were you channeling Jack? is it fun to speak Spanish all day?
Hi Jasmine! Sounds like you all are already learning so much! Such a wonderful experience you are having and being able to give back makes it that much more memorable. Thanks for sharing through this blog and I love the pictures!
Anthony,It sounds and looks like you are learning a lot, Glimpsers, it is so good to see you all making a difference in the lives of others. Great Job!!! Love Mom
Haley, it was a wonderful surprise to hear your voice today. I am glad you are alive and well and are expanding your palate! We all miss you. Love, Mom
Haley, So happy to hear your trip is going so well! Love you , Granny
To all Glimpsers, some words of encouragement to return the favor: The actions you are all taking are inspirational! I am very proud, just by reading the blogs and seeing the life changing moments you are all having together (: Keep up the fantastic work!
Im aslo glad that my awesome friend , Jasmine , can go through precious times with all of you. As you all work on growing and aiding the community I am not only eager to see how you change the lives of others, but also to see how your life changes as well.
I hope to see more amazing events together with you through this blog. Continue to share your great hopes and joy with the community :). Much love.
Hello Glimpsers, I love seeing all of the activities you are engaging in. Not only are you expanding your knowledge of our world, but you are bringing love to the world!! Jasmine, I loved hearing from you today, that was magical :). Cubs news, not so good at the moment. They lost four straight to the (hated) NY Mets and 2 out of 3 to the lowley Reds. Argggh! Rossi got hit by a pitch last night and is on the 7 day disabled list. The good news is this happened while you were in Nicaragua and this weekend is the All-Star break. They get 5 days off!! They need it. Fowler should be coming back and Rossi is day to day. I’m reading all of Luke, we can talk when you get back. The weather is finally getting warm so I’m driving topless 😉 I miss you a lot, but I’m super proud of your work there. Spread the love mi hija. I love you so much. Dad
Hey Sarah M,
We hope you’re having fun and learning a lot throughout your journey at Nicaragua. Don’t get sunburnt! We are so excited to see what you guys will accomplish there and we cannot wait to hear all your stories.
Marlene, Adrian and Ms. Johnson,
I hope you are having an amazing trip so far! I have enjoyed reading the blogs and following along as you go about your journey! Enjoy every minute of it and I can’t wait to hear all about it when you return!
If you don’t already know, I am beyond jealous so have the absolute best time and I will vicariously live it through your stories!!
Ms. Driessen
I am happy to see you were interacted with the students and learning their lives, I can’t wait to hear more about their story and Hope project.glad to see your smile on every pictures. Love mom
Hey Nayla! I know you have been a shining presence and great contributor to the Community Action Project. You are definitely at home doing community building and improvement, and if you are as energetic and passionate working for positive change there as you are here, your contributions will be many and your effect will be lasting! Great job to you all!
Kierra, I am so excited and proud that you and your fellow Glimpsers have had this experience. I hope that after interacting with those students, you guys realized how fortunate you are to live in the U. S. as well as recieve the type of education that has been given to you thus far (hopefully u appreciate teachers a little more?). I really liked how you described your day as the Leader along with the interactions. As I read your blog I turned to your dad and asked, “Do you believe that Kiki wrote this? This sounds amazing”. Yes, your mom was highly impressed by the use of vocabulary and description of the day ☺️. Hunni we miss you and can’t wait until you come home!! But in the meantime, continue to learn, lead and enjoy this opportunity.
Best wishes
Sara Geiger, hope your doing well and learning many different things. Love Oma.
Happy birthday Anthony from the Frazier family. Love ya and continue to make an impact in the lives of others. Love your sister.
