Yesterday, 30 students along with 3 Global Glimpse Leaders successfully stepped foot in the Dominican Republic!!! After three months of planning for this day it was so exciting for us coordinators to meet the students and bring this summer program to life! Although everyone was exhausted from traveling (plus an unexpected 3 hour plane delay!), the students kept up their energy and their smiles throughout the day and were able to push through. A highlight for us was definitely when the students got to meet and learn about our accommodation’s provider, Israel, as he told the story of founding the orphanage we are staying in. We also met and snapped a quick photo at the airport to mark the beginning of what will be a great trip 🙂
