Hola Glimpsers!
Greetings from Constanza, Dominican Republic!
We are your Site Manager and Program Coordinator, Yohanny Rojas
and Vilmaris González, and we are extremely excited to
welcome everyone to the Switzerland of the Caribbean.
We know that you all have worked very hard to reach this point of coming on this
exchange, and we applaud and recognize this hard work! We are both very delighted to
take this life changing journey with all of you this summer. This experience will
undoubtedly be transformative, enlightening, and open your mind to what all the
world has to offer.
During your three weeks in the Dominican Republic you will most definitely be learning a lot about the
culture of the DR, specifically Constanza, but you will also learn A LOT about yourselves. This will be a
hands-on learning experience and we urge you all to come ready to immerse yourselves 100%. Allow
yourselves to detach from your lives at home and be present in your upcoming exchange.
After these 3 weeks you will have amazing stories to share when you go back home, and you will be well
on your way to becoming the global citizens and leaders you are all meant to be.
We are here to guide and support you during your time in Constanza, and you can count on us both to
do just that!
As a further reminder in regards to dress code we would like to reiterate just a few things! Make sure to bring more appropriate casual wear outfits, such as nice jeans, dress pants, dress skirts, button downs, and formal blouses (business). Also make sure to pack clothes that can get dirty! We also are asking everyone to bring heavy weight shoes or boots (shoes with thick soles on the bottom!) Lots of bug spray, sun block, a light sweater, umbrella and/or rain jacket, and of course A GREAT ATTITUDE!!! 🙂
We wish you safe travels down to the Dominican Republic and look forward to meeting all of you very
soon!
