Welcome to the BEST Global Glimpse Team: Jarabacoa #1!!!
We are so excited to meet you!

Hannah Barrentine

¡Saludos!  I’ll be one of your Global Glimpse Leaders for our trip to Jarabacoa this summer!
I’m a CA native and a bilingual Spanish speaker who loves latin dance! I am an avid hiker who enjoys the outdoors, and I’ve even bungee-jumped off the world’s tallest bridge! I have spent 2.5 years living and working as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Dominican Republic and cannot wait to show you the beautiful island I call home. (Jarabacoa truly is the most incredible place on the island!) I recently graduated with my Masters in International Education Management with a concentration in Spanish at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey. I hold a Bachelors degree in Global Studies from Azusa Pacific University, after spending the majority of my studies abroad in Nicaragua, Mexico, Guatemala and South Africa. My passion to equip, mentor, and guide youth abroad as they encounter new and challenging international experiences is the reason I have chosen to  become a GGL leader. I am looking forward to building new friendships, facilitating challenging and thought-provoking discussions, and of course eating delicious food! ¡Nos vemos June 11th!

Con mucho amor,
Hannah

Hi all! I am one of your excited Global Glimpse Leaders this summer! I cannot wait to travel, explore, and learn all about Jarabacoa and the DR with you! I am Minnesota native now living and teaching at Kennedy High School in Richmond, CA. (Yes, I miss the snow :)) I have been teaching chemistry and leadership for a total of 3 years now, and every day is a new experience. I enjoy all aspects of high school culture, from academics to sports and clubs to committees. In my free time, I love to travel, hike, craft, read, dance, learn new languages, meet new people, and try new foods. I hope we’ll get to do all of these on our trip! When the opportunity arose to partner with Global Glimpse at Kennedy High School, I knew I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. I am so lucky to be part of a program in its first year at KHS that allows me to live out my passion for travel and learning AND share it with teens at the same time. I hope you’re all ready for a busy, powerful, exhausting and engaging 16 days this summer. Can’t wait to see you all at the airport on June 12th. ¡Vámonos!

Much love,
Emma
