Hey everyone it is your leaders Daniel, Sammy, and Bradly!
Today was our first CAP (Community Action Project) Day at the Federation. We woke up at 7am and had bread and lemonade for breakfast. Then we arrived at the Federation at 10am and started building stables. We were in groups of three: one for painting the roofs, one for building horse feeders and one for digging the foundation.
Lunch was at 1pm and consisted of rice, beans, chicken, and fried eggplants. After eating, we resumed working at our previous stations. One of the main challenges faced by our workers was the hard ground and bulky rocks. We finished our work for the day and left the federation at 30 minutes from 4 p.m.
Arriving back at the foundation, we had about 2 hours of free time. During that time, many of us played cards and frisbee. Dinner followed at 7pm. We had chicken and ham empanadas with a side of raw eggs. Our nightly meeting was at 8pm , and the torch was passed to Giang, Katie, and Abhinav. Right before leaving, the foundation became overcome with dark, gloomy, and sad clouds. The leaders of the day began to write this blog at 10 minutes before 9 p.m.
P.S. I miss Gia.
Wow! What a day! You all must be so tired.
I enjoy the blog updates so much — hearing about your day and also the food you’re eating (“a side of raw eggs”? … I can’t wait to hear all about that — I’m laughing when I think of what some of your expressions might have been). I’m guessing they were perhaps some of the freshest eggs you’ve ever had.
Lovey, I talked to Auntie Jill yesterday 🙂 She’s doing great. She sends HUGE hugs to you and is super interested to hear all about this fabulous once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
Big LOVE and HUGS to ALL!!!
YES DANIEL!!
