Hey everyone, it’s Stacey and Ebenezer, today’s Él Líder Del Día. Today was a successful day for all of the Glimpsers. We started off the day with breakfast at La Buffet Familiar, as usual. From there we made our way to Hogar de Ancianos, the Elderly home. The beautiful sunshine and the welcoming townspeople made our walk to the elderly home very lovely.
As soon as we arrived, we immediately split up into different groups in order to continue remodeling the laundry room as efficiently as possible. After several hours of hard labor, we accomplished taking apart the damaged roof and walls, cleaning the roof off the remaining tin pieces, and painting the tin pieces to slow down further oxidation.
After today, we learned that communication is a huge part of teamwork. It is important to communicate with each other because it allows people to be on the same page and make decisions together. Today, our communication was great because we were able to get work done while consulting each other as a group. We are most proud of our team’s dedication to fixing the laundry room. It has been a stressful process, and we are running out of time, but we are trying our hardest to build something sustainable. Furthermore, being Él Líder Del Día was definitely a challenging, but fun experience. There are a lot of responsibilities that come along with being a team leader, but it was a great experience that we will both cherish forever.
Ebneazer & Stacy, Thanks for the update. We are impressed with what you have achieved as a group. Looks like two well planned, well-coordinated, productive days. It’s good to hear that you all are learning the importance of communication and teamwork. We are sure you’ll cherish these bonds of friendship and great experiences of teamwork throughout your professional careers. Thanks for the pictures. It is nice to see happy faces of Glimpsers. Be positive and keep making a difference. Good luck to you all.
I’m not sure if the finished product is the one next to the picture with the materials on the floor, but from the looks of it it looks great. I’m pretty happy to see some of my friends having fun on this trip. See you guys when we return to school or whenever we can.
