“Doing little things in little places can change the world.”

Hola,  buenas noches!!! This is Anna and Debora typing here, and we are ready to tell you how our day went 😉

So, today was officially our first day working on our CAP project and even though it was a little stressful we got a lot of work done today. We started off with our wake-up call at 6:25 in the morning and breakfast at 7 am. Our first meal was a very delicious jam crape with some ham, queso fresco, bread, and a berry juice. After breakfast, we went straight to the bus and went to FAE the school where we are doing our CAP project on. We all went into groups; some people built bookshelves and the rest started prepping classrooms to be sanded down and painted. As the Lider Del Dia, we both went running around to different classrooms to supervise and check up on everyone.

So, after working for about 3 hours, at 1 pm we finally left the school and ended up eating our lunch on the bus which was rice mixed with vegetables. When we arrived, we had an hour of free time, which the painting group used to purchase the supplies necessary for the next day.

Then, at 3 pm, we started prepping for our last English tutoring which took place an hour later. Besides teaching, we got to spend some quality time with our students for their last day of class with us. We all took pictures, got plenty of hugs, and said our goodbyes.

Later on, we had dinner at La Estancia. We had rice, fried chicken, potatoes with perejil, plantain, tres leches cake, and manzanilla tea. When we were done eating, we sang and danced to some Spanish music and a little bit of bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.

Finally, we went back to the hotel, had our Nightly Meeting, and passed the torch to our leaders of tomorrow.

Thanks for reading our blog; we hope you all had a wonderful day!
