Hi families and friends! These are your leaders of the day, Dulce and Kyara. This is the earliest morning we’ve ever had. Getting up at 6 am wasn’t easy… but we made it through. After we woke everyone up, we quickly realized that the schedules we gave the kitchen staff did not align with ours. But regardless of that, we had a delicious breakfast of fresh fruits and cereal! After breakfast, we got our stuff from our rooms and headed to Cañada de Las Palmas, where we did chores for the locals, met all of the families, and quickly bonded with them. Around 12 pm, the families hosted lunch where we were given delicious rice and chicken with a side of eggplants, plantains, and potato salad. After lunch, we had the community bonding activity where we did face painting and coloring with the local kids and even practiced our dancing. After this, we said goodbye to the families and headed back to Dilenia where we had a seminar and discussed what we learned in the community we visited. Taking into consideration what we learned in the community, we started to plan our much-awaited CAP project… Let’s just say things got hectic with multiple opinions. After that was over, we headed down to have a delicious meal of pasta with a side of salad. As we do every night, we had our nightly meeting, where we passed the torch to tomorrow’s LDDs (Leaders of the Day), Alex and Ezra. Although we are sad to no longer be LDDs, we are looking forward to tomorrow. As always, lights out… Stay tuned
