Today was Day 2 of our CAP project and it was the most productive day so far. We started by digging more holes for the plants and we finished cleaning the skatepark walls so that we could finish the mural paintings. Other Glimpsers worked on creating metal frameworks for new concrete and planting trees around the area.

The hardest part for Jocelyn and I was the mural paintings as the paint was running all over the place, including on our clothes. Teamwork especially came in handy when we needed to mix the paints to get the full effect of the colors and designs. With everybody helping out, this project went by fast and we were able to get more work done than expected.

Even though the painting got very messy and we ended up covered in paint and dirt, the hard work was well worth it for the experience of volunteering in such a unique environment. Even though the project isn’t finished, we have high hopes that it will be finished by tomorrow and the project will come together in one seamless and gorgeous skatepark for people from all walks of life.

We return tomorrow to see our animals, especially our new little froggie friend!
