Hey everyone, its Saul! I was in charge of being Líder del día (LDD) for the second free day! Today Glimpsers woke up between 8:30 and 9:00 to eat breakfast and get ready for the day. Everyone made sure to get their laundry bags ready to get done by one of the very appreciated lady’s working here in La Salle. Then it was time for people to start calling back home. Many people were very emotional after their call back home, but we were all here to help everyone who felt a little homesick. From 10:00 to 12:00 we all finished getting ready for the day and spent time with everyone. Between that time, a group went out to the hardware store to purchase the materials for our CAP project that we will begin working on tomorrow.

At 12:00 we all sat at the table and ate lunch together. All the food has been very tasty but I’m sure everyone has that one thing that they can’t wait to eat when we get back.  From 1:00 to 3:00 we had our second explore time! This time, we were able to explore the city without one of the ambassadors, but still making sure to be safe in the city. I saw a lot of people that came back with gifts for all of you guys back home and there was also people who stocked up on snacks and candy. This explore time was very short so we did feel a little rushed to buy everything we wanted to get. The reason for such a short explore time is because we also had to go to do the English tutoring from 4:00 to 6:00. This was gong to be the last time we would be teaching our students before their graduation day and we have all grown so close to our students which is going to make it hard to be able to say bye to them for the last time on their graduation day.

After making our was back to the accommodation, we had diner at 7:00. When people were finished eating we a little time before our nightly meeting at 8:00 to just talk to each other and have a good time. During our nightly meeting we were told we would have a little more explore time after we get back from working in the community named El Llano. When our nightly meeting was finished we were told to meet in another room for a little surprise from our Global Glimpse Leaders (GGL’s). We were all so exited when they told us that they had set up karaoke! After we all were finished screaming at the top of our lungs or getting emotional with the music it was time to get some rest for the long day of work we have tomorrow. I know most of you probably are dying to have your kids back at home, but I promise you were are all having a great time here in the Dominican Republic!

Best wishes, Saul Serrano
