Hello family & friends!! Jade here as leader of the day! Today was a rough day for me because I wasn’t feeling very well so I was down for a while. But just to sum up the day for the rest of the group, we all woke up at around 7:00am to get ready to eat the famous Nacatamales for breakfast at Imabite. After breakfast, they all had free-time to explore around the town or just to hang out around the hostel one last time. Later at around 11:30, we had our last meal at Imabite and said our goodbyes & thank you to Angel. After lunch, we got on the bus for a 2 hour drive back to Managua!

These past 15 days with them has been a rollercoaster of events. Starting from awkwardly sitting together at the SFO airport, to meeting my awesome roomies, Itzel & Anabel, bonding together every night before lights out, listening to almost everyone sing in the bus rides, learning how to live & work like a local, working hard on our CAP project at Barrilete, watching our intelligent students show off their talents on the last day of English tutoring, to sharing our pooping/puking stories with the group, the list could go on & on!

During our final reflection, I noticed that we all learned the same big, important lesson: not to take things for granted and to appreciate what we have now.. All this to say, I am truly blessed to have had this opportunity to learn about the amazing culture that they cherish so dearly in Nicaragua. And I am so grateful to have shared this life-changing experience with an incredible group of individuals.

As leader of the day, I just want to share a final thank you for everyone who supported all of us to make this trip possible. And for Team Barbaro for being the best group out there.
This truly amazing & inspiring family definitely made this trip one for the books. Until next time!! #TeamBarbaroforever ❤️
