Hello supporters of global glimpse, my name are Danny Villanueva and today I was student leader of the day. Today was the CAP (Community Action Plan) Day 1. Today what we did was go to the rural community and started to carry out our action plan to help the community and make an impact in the lives of the people of the Dominican Republic. We were split in to our two groups of 9 people and started to work on either the Ludoteca or the sala de escritura. We all contributed to help make an impact on the rural community, whether it was building or fixing benches, painting walls, salvaging tires or helping two 17 year old ladies that are shorter than 5’10 weighing less than 110 pounds, paint walls that they couldn’t reach by having them sit on your shoulders. Today we all had a common goal and tomorrow we will reach that goal. Today what surprised me was how well we all worked together. I saw dedication in the eyes of my peers and that was what fuelled me to keep working no matter how tired I was. It was amazing to see how much could get done when everyone works towards the same goal. We, the Global Glimpsers, worked hard today and will soon lay our tired bodies and minds to rest for the finalization of our CAP project. We are on the final days for this amazing trip and we’ll will be home soon.
