Today, we started the day off by waking up at 6:30 AM and by 9 AM, we were separated into different towns and spent the day helping those families with house cleaning. Then for lunch, which was around 12:00 pm, we ate with some locals and helped clean up after them. After lunch we interviewed multiple people from the community that take on leadership roles. After spending time with the children in the community, we came back to the hotel and had a seminar about how to be a tutor and be prepared for those classes. Lastly, we had our regular night time ritual. PERRRIIOODD😉😁 Some important take-aways we learned were the values of materialistic things and the need to help others. While we tend to focus on the dollar value and social status of the things we seeing the different, less fortunate, lifestyles of the communities we visited helped us realize that we can still be happy without expensive things. Also, we realized that we had taken a lot of things for granted back in the States, like running water. We learned that we need to help and support each other.
