Hola friends and family!

Today, Reyna and I (Ruby) were leaders of the day. The wake-up call was 7:30 AM. We had a health check-in at 8:15 AM. Breakfast was at 8:30 AM and we had a chorizo sandwich with melon and coffee. We learned about two local businesses in Las Tablas, Paulina’s Bakery and Queseria Lourdes. Paulina’s Bakery is a family-owned business that sells bread (around 90 loaves of bread per day), coffee, ice cream, pastries, etc. Queseria Lourdes opened in 1988. The cheese recipes are Mexican-inspired. Their cheeses have different flavors ranging from sweet pineapple to spicy jalapeño.

Around 12 PM we headed back to the hotel and had 20 minutes of free time before lunch. For lunch, we had chicken and rice. After lunch, we had 5.5 hours of free time. We played games for 2 hours while it was pouring rain. Around 3 PM we went into town. We ended up walking in the rain. We went to a shoe store, so people could buy hiking boots for working like a local and CAP days, Paulina’s Bakery, because it was so good and we wanted more pastries and went to the supermarket to get snacks and necessities. When we got back to the hotel, we had 25 minutes of free time before dinner, which was fish and fries. Currently, we’re writing the blog while everyone plays games and hanging out before lights out at 10:00 PM. Tomorrow we are waking up to work like a local is 5:15 AM. Wish us luck.

Thanks for tuning in for today’s blog and we’ll be back tomorrow.

Good Night,

Ruby and Reyna!
