This morning all the Glimpsers were looking forward to free day. They were awoken by the joyful noise of Juemoore’s voice and they were told they could sleep in an extra hour! 😊 Glimpsers had self-serve Fruit Loops and Frosted Flakes. We used the morning time to work on our CAP panel presentations and call all our loved ones.
For lunch, Liselot treated us to delicious sancocho, which is Dominican pork and carrot soup with rice and beans. We explored Bonao with our lovely ambassadors and we traveled to La Opera, Bonao’s version of Target, for souvenirs and gifts. Our second destination was the supermarket for snacks and drinks and groceries. Lastly, we traveled to Bon Helado for ice cream, smoothies, and frozen yogurt. Some Glimpsers even got their nails done! Dinner was a nice change of pace, and we even got arroz con leche with pineapple for dessert.
As leaders of the day, we found the task to be interesting. It was challenging, yet fun, trying to get everyone together when everyone was so spread out. It was good to have a day of rest before a mentally challenging day tomorrow, where we live like a local without electricity and running water. We look forward to seeing how Isaiah and Pascual do as Lideres del Dia tomorrow!

Big Love to all!

It was so wonderful to receive a call from my Emma Kay this morning! Sounding good albeit very tired. Special thanks to Liselot for helping vegan glimpsers keep up their strength to allow them to continue with their great work with delicious meals. Emma, Simey and Shaye miss you (and of course I do, too!)! xo
Wow, it looks like you’re all having such a great time and working really hard. If there was a shopping extravaganza, I know it was a good day for Violet!

Hi Diane,
Huckleberry ? and I send our love. Looks like you are staying very busy. I can’t wait to see photos of your waterfall hike. Make the most of this experience and bring home a few Dominican food recipes that we can make. XO
