As a group today, we all experienced a moment of realization towards the education in Nicaragua. We spent a whole school day shadowing students ranging from ages between 13-16. We had the opportunity to see how an average Nicaraguan student was learning in school which was completely different compared to the United States.
This experience made us value our education more and value what we have and take for granted. Adding on to the realization of education, we also had the opportunity to teach adults a language that requires days on teaching and patience: English.
We spent 2 hours helping educate these students the language barrier most Global Glimpsers and Nicaraguan people had. Despite the amount of time we had to prepare a lesson, we did an incredibly and amazing job in which we connected with the students positively.
We love to give a big shout out to Trinity for being completely honest with her emotions and a big shout out to Thania for pushing herself out of her comfort zone and speaking out loud in front of a lot of people.
Happy to hear you all are having great experiences, having the patience to teach with language barrier. Milla can’t wait to hear more when you come home:). Enjoy your time, all be safe, God bless all of you. Love mom
