Today was a day of trials and tribulations. After a number of unfortunate occurrences, the day became heavily altered. The day started tamely; we woke up around 6:15 to a bright Jinotega morning. About an hour later, we were off to the buffet to eat some delicious omelets and beans. Upon our return, we discussed plans and organized groups for our community action project (CAP). As it happened, the entire city of Jinotega experienced a power outage and we were unable to go along with some of the activities previously planned.

With this series of unexpected changes in scheduling, our delegation had even more time to brainstorm and plan for our CAP so that tomorrow’s presentation will proceed without obstacle. Soon after our CAP preparation activity, we got word from the City Dump that our planned field trip had been cancelled. After a brief period of confusion and frustration, we were cleared to visit – the only stipulation being that our time was significantly shortened.

When we arrived back at the Hostel the delegation began the reflection of the day. After that, we  went straight to the buffet to eat and prepare before our English tutoring, directly afterwards. English tutoring went well, and we returned to continue our reflection. This was followed with the Nightly Meeting. Although we did have setbacks, the day came and went with us in high spirits. We persevered!

That’s all from Team Jinotega 1A today. Tune in tomorrow for more details on the trip! Unfortunately no pictures from today’s events. Sorry!
