Hola de Ecuador,

Today, we began the day by waking up at 7:15 am. We had breakfast in our usual spot with Nelson and unfortunately not Isabelle. Despite this, we still had a good breakfast. After breakfast, we went to Kurt Kinti and met Jenni and her husband Santiago to learn about sustainable living. While there, we hiked up a steep hill to help in their barley harvest. After helping with the harvest, they gave us queso fresco with corn and lemonade. Afterward, we went to Carlos Garbay, a school for special needs children. We will be collaborating with them for our community action project over the next few days. Then, we headed to lunch and returned to the hotel. At the hotel, we had an hour of free time followed by our second action project seminar. After that, we went to dinner and from there went to the night school Martiniano Guerrero Freire and conversed with local students of all ages. After going to classes in groups we played soccer with them and made the most of our time. From there we came back and had our nightly meeting where we knighted tomorrow’s leaders of the day. And now we want to let all the parents/guardians know that we hold you in our hearts. Signing off, a very tired yet happy Katherine and Vanessa. ps. Happy Fourth of July!
