First day in the Dominican Republic!
Our first students arrived this afternoon to the Dominican Republic. All the staff was ready and exciting for the beginning of the summer! They arrived very tired after hours of traveling from California USA to this Caribbean tropical country, but they look so excited and eager to learn and grow from this experience.
After leaving the airport we traveled for 4 hours in a bus to get to the city of San Juan de la Maguana and they got to meet their “Dominican mom” Sheyla, our food and accommodation provider here. Also, they learned their first Spanish-domincan words: Ayuntamiento, Cazicazgo, Taíno.

Julia, we are glad you still made it in time :)I hope you didn’t forget too much since we were in such a rush. Enjoy every minute of this experience it will stay with you for a life time.
