Our free day all began last night with a moment of relaxation where all of us gathered together to kick off “Free Day” with face masks and music. Even our Global Glimpse Leaders joined in on the tranquility! This was our opportunity to bond and connect with one another in a way we haven’t ever done before! The very next morning, we began with a light breakfast followed by our very first chance to explore all of Riobamba without either of the Global Glimpse Leaders. In groups of four or more, we ventured out to discover and explore the wonders of Ecuador. Our group in particular decided to go to Plaza Roja, where we bought souvenirs like ponchos, bracelets, jackets, and plenty of other trinkets. We even took a trip to the local cafe where we all got to enjoy delicious Crepes. This was followed by a dinner of chicken, salad with avocados, and a side of Ecuadorian mashed potatoes. During this meal, we had the privilege to meet with another delegation from New York! This was very exciting. Getting to meet them was so pleasurable; they were extremely cordial. Afterward, we had our nightly meeting where we discussed our day, gave each other our pluses & wishes. and shared our big love. Getting the chance to feel independent today was very liberating. We had an eventful day being able to feel one with the Ecuadorian community. Being faced with the unfamiliar task of navigating through a foreign city was very empowering.
