¡Hola! Adeleny and Lilly here. Today, we led our one and only free day! After getting a good night’s rest, we were able to sleep in until 8:30 am. Breakfast was delicious as we devoured our pancakes with fresh mangoes and bananas. There was zero waste! With our tummies full, we relaxed for 3 hours during a designated social break for those who wanted time to themselves or for those who wanted to socialize quietly. At lunch, we enjoyed a fan favorite: beef with rice and beans with a salad that included cucumbers and tomatoes that were brought from Constanza’s very own produce sites that we visited the previous day. Again, there was also zero waste! From 1-5 pm, we told our adult leaders where we wanted to go! Our itinerary was under our control and we decided to go to several grocery stores and souvenir shops. We visited a restaurant owned by Bernardo Pastiño, founder of Alegria Innocente Foundation, where many of us enjoyed different tropical juices. Then at the military base, we played basketball, volleyball, and in their outdoor gym. We made it back to the hotel and enjoyed salchipapas (french fries with salami and cheese) with a tangy iced tea. Also zero waste! We wrapped it up by having our regular nightly meeting and passed the torch to Dulce and Kyara. Through all the shopping and walking around the city, we learned the responsibility of spending our money wisely, eating proportionally, and being more cautious of our surroundings, especially when crossing streets in Constanza.

P.S. Shoutout to all of our families! We love and miss you so much; don’t have too much fun without us.
