Today we had our second free day. For the first time since our first free day we were able to explore Constanza in separate groups without leaders. Glimpsers went shopping, got ice cream, and hung out in the hostel due to a light drizzle. Later on in the day we enjoyed celebrating our student’s graduation at the school Arroyo Arriba where we spent three days teaching English to a variety of students ranging from young to old. At the graduation we enjoyed music, dancing, cupcakes and laughter. We ended the night with a short walk back together to Funjido, the place where we eat, and had a nice taco dinner.

Alex (GG Program manager) here. I could have sworn I commented on an early post as well, so excuse me if I’m repetitive. I just re-read all your blog posts because I miss y’all so much!! It looks like you’ve all really connected with one another and learned so much about the DR, culture, identity, and responsible global citizenship. I had such an amazing time with your group at the beginning of the trip, I wish I could have stayed the whole time.
I hope you really enjoy your last two days, and I’ll look forward to working with the Springfield and Greenfield Glimpsers in the Western Mass Alumni Ambassador Program next year. Ayanna, Zach and Malachi y’all better apply for the NYC Ambassador Program, and you incredible Boston students pleasseeee stay in touch! Even though you’ll be farther from the programming, there are still some opportunities that could be available to you, and keep in mind you’re joining a huge network of Glimpsers. Maybe we can bring GG to your current schools one day soon!
