Today was a very relaxing day because of of the fact that it was a free day. The wake up call was at 8:00 so that we could make it to breakfast at 8:30. We had cereal with milk and then began to call our family and friends. Next we had free time at the accommodations where we took naps, played cards, and just hung out with each other. For lunch we had rice and beef, and got prepared for explore time. Some people went to the supermarket, the ice cream shop, and souvenir shopping. We eventually made it back in time for ET Prep to plan for English Tutoring at 5 pm. English tutoring consisted of things like Heads Up, learning new Spanish words, and introducing words like “among” and “between.” Then we had arroz con leche and watermelon for dinner. Our nightly meeting was very interesting! The new leaders showed us talents like rapping, a horror story performance, and whistling through her hands. Although it was a very relaxing day, we still had great bonding moments with each other. As time goes on we continue to get closer and make memories like a family.
Hi Jaelle. I am so excited that you are enjoying this wonderful experience. You and Kathleen did a great job as leaders, I love the report and the pics. I can’t wait for you to sit and describe this trip to us. Thank you to all who invested whether it be money or time in making this trip possible for this group of young people. I know that this trip will have a lifetime impact on the young people’s lives.. Great memories and friendship will come out of this trip. God Bless you all. Safe trip to all as you all travel back home soon. Love Mom
I still continue to love to read your daily blogs and view the fabulous pics that go along with them – thank you. I also continue to be very excited (and envious!) for everyone that you are fortunate enough to have this experience/journey. Emma Kay – so sorry I missed your phone call today but know I am thinking of you often. Simey and Shaye miss you, too! xo
