Hey peoples!!! Today we all woke up at 7:00AM, and managed to drink some of the best instant coffee (sarcasm). For breakfast we had Frijoles (beans), Juevos (eggs), Pan (bread), and Pitahaya (Dragonfruit juice). We all enjoyed it very much especially the juice. After breakfast we came back to the hostel and had a Aid & Development seminar. In this seminar we spent an hour talking about how effective certain aid can be. This was very interesting and I believe we all learned how some aid can be unnecessary and even bad for an area. After the seminar we had a short break where we played wiggaloo and Big Booty. Then our fantastic GG Leaders introduced our Community Action Project (CAP) and gave a short seminar about that. Once the seminar was over we went back to our favorite resturante and had a fantastic variety of things to eat along with rice and Fried bananas. This was an interesting lunch personally because I got to try a local dish named lengua (basically cow tongue). After lunch we came back and with the short delay of our first money exchange headed out to the Hotel con Corazon. The Hotel con Corazon is an absolutely amazing establishment that uses all profits for its hotel portion to help fund the education of primary school students in rural areas. They also tutor kids and have had such an amazing success rate that the ministry of education has opened a secondary school. this was very interesting and fun. Finally we came home and are currently having some free time. It has been a really interesting eye opening day.
What’s up Jon
