My name is Brendan Boland. I’ll be one of your Global Glimpse leaders this year. This is my first trip with Global Glimpse so I’m excited to see how our trip looks on the ground!

A Few Things About Me:

I have lived in 3 continents, 5 countries, and 2 states.

  • I teach 10th Grade English at Summit K2 in Richmond, but I grew up in Fremont / San Jose.

And I like all forms of music, but listen to a lot of 90s hip hop, jazz, and electronic.
Currently, I am learning to play the cajón. I own a guitar, keyboard, and Ableton live.
And write for the music site, Rock With This.

The reason I became a GG Leader:

"In every walk in nature, one receives more than he seeks." ~John Muir.

I joined GG because I was excited at the opportunity to travel. Both for myself and for all my students (those at K2 High School and on our trip to Bonao). Seeing other communities allows one to gain perspective on the world, including its views, values, and cultures. We get to go beyond the large towns and live among these small communities. And if we allow ourselves, we will find life lessons and stories that will stay with us long after the trip.

I am looking forward to…

Learning to Bachata — a new dance hall opened up with a bachata night. I promised my wife to come back knowing at least a few steps to show off on our date night.

Reach Out!

We’ll be calling each of you shortly to introduce ourselves personally and learn a bit about you.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have before the trip!
