Hi Everyone! My name is Amy Benson and I am so excited to be one of your GG leaders in Riobamba this summer! I’ve been teaching for 8 years at Cupertino High School. I primarily teach math, but I also have one class of AVID.
In my free time I enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, running, yoga, and animals (especially cats!). One of my life goals is to see all of the National Parks in the United States and many more in other countries. My first experience abroad was in college on the Birthright Israel trip and I’ve been to several countries in Europe, but this will be my first trip to Latin America so I’m really excited for that new experience!
I immediately jumped at the opportunity to be a Global Glimpse Leader because being immersed in the daily life of a different culture, and expanding comfort zones with compassionate young people, sounded like such a life-changing and meaningful adventure to embark on. I’m so excited to meet you all and help lead you through this sure to be amazing experience!
