Today’s experiences were fully reflective of the Global Business theme and served as an important reminder to all of us to be mindful of the role we, as community members, play in the protection of our environment and human rights. As a group, we had the incredible opportunity to visit the Cormidom Mines in nearby Bonao and fully uncover the mutualistic relationship they uphold with the communities surrounding the mines. We also had the chance to visit Loma Miranda, an area of land that serves as a major source of water and biodiversity in the Dominican Republic. Additionally, an important leadership lesson that I could pass on to others from today’s experiences is the significance of delegation. As a leader, it was wonderful to see our team’s tight bond only grow stronger over the course of the day and to get to know all of our local Global Glimpse ambassadors with such personal depth.
